After voting and observing today's election, I cannot help but feel sad for my country. While I commend the enthusiasm of the electorate, I cannot celebrate the outcome of the election, regardless of who wins. From the South to the North, there were widespread irregularities accross party lines: under age voting, thuggery, ballot box snatching, violence and killings.

The desperation by politicians to win by all means is obvious, the only reason being that their motive is wrong.

If all of these are happening when the President defied everything to deploy soldiers on our streets, I fear to imagine how bloody it would have been if those who opposed it had their way.

So, let no politician or party pontificate about free and fair elections hereafter. There was nothing of that sort today.

You certainly will!
When those promised "changes" start to roll in, majority of Nigerians will realized how unwise they have been for throwing away the baby with the water.
