This is real poo! If this is true, why are lebanese, indians and chinese heading almost all the big engineering/industries firms in Nigeria? You hardly see any construction company that won't have a white man as chief engineer. As far as am concerned we don't study engineering in this country. We only go there to test our mathematical skill. Some Nigerians you see today with good technical skills must have worked under a white man or have gone for practical training abroad. We don't learn sh*t here at all aside ODEs and complex equations that you can't apply anywhere in manufacturing industries and others.

In the 90's/00's ATBU was peerless. This is a fact. I think it was the only university back then that insisted on maintaining the course duration for engineering at 6yrs when every other institution was running a 5 year program.

After changing course length to 5 yrs to at some point in the 90s they still calculated students CGPAs on the basis of 20% for each year. This meant if you were unfortunate to be in 3rd class after 100level your chances of making a 2-1 was nigh on impossible.

But you still can't compare ATBU with Federal Polytechnic Buchi

nice list, so far my school(LAUTECH) is there, i dun av a problem .
In another news, to think LAUTECH made that list, this shows how crappy our education in Nigeria is, some of my mates dont know how to perform machine operations, no knowledge of automobile, no good design knowledge, no course on any design software at all, nothing on power generation, and i know this is the same for all universities in Nigeria, just theories and photocopies and deadlines from lectures with very high level of frustration, i swear, this is why they always call Nigerian graduates un-employable. smh. I hope to become minister of Education/Technology one of these days sha. will surely change the system.

I can attest to Uniben Engineering Faculty, have you had about repeating class?for example,once you fail two courses in 100l Engineering in Uniben,you will remain in 100l till the next session and once you failed it again,you are going back to your father's house..Uniben Engineering no be beans ooo,talking about Ela,Ema and the Mee's, Olagbegi go kill you for Mechanical.On a serious note Engineering is very herculean cos you must have the celebral stamina to withstands the stress..I rep tripple E UNIBEN.
