Just wondering how to configure a Free DOS HP PC you buy.

Okay.....a friend got a free DOS HP laptop and is having issues configuring an OS on it win7/win8.

Ok dats better...
Get a windows 7/8 boot cd (costs less than N200)
Insert the cd into the cd drive and restart the system
If it boots from cd, u should see a prompt like; Press any key to boot from cd/dvd: press any key
It should load some files and then bring u to a windows screen
U would see an Install windows button, click on it and accept the terms and conditionsFrom there it should be quite easy to complete just make sure u read and follow the instructions u see on ur screen
Also make sure u select a partition to install it into and the computer should do the rest.

If u encounter any problem feel free to mention me: RobinHez

Note that this procedure could format ur system, so I advice u backup personal data...or best still, take it to a qualified engineer to help with it.

Thanks....will help him later tomorrow. Got to the win8 interface you mentioned but had issues with some missing files I guess and wondered why because twas a brand new system- free DOS so I wonder why.

Oh...its abt the disc...missing files in the disc

Ok...did u format the drive first?

Nops.......its a new system so the win8 was just ran like that and its successful now. Thanks so much for the clarification, the other CD was the problem then

Guess you had one already...... I was so confused because I did mine same way then and needed some clarifications hence the queries then.

yes, you can do it with rufus. just download the ISO you want.
