The truth is that Obasanjo can be a great asset or a terrible liability. It only depends on how you choose to see/use him. Personally, I admire Obasanjo cos whether anyone agrees with me or not, that man is a patriot and has the love of Nigeria devoid of any sentiments...whether religious or ethnic. Buhari seems to have quite a lot of respect for Obasanjo too. However, I believe Buhari is a very strong-willed leader and would only seek advices and opinions that go with his vision. The problem with Jonathan was that he was very weak-willed and didn't know jack and in all honesty, Obasanjo would have been able to help him but the caucus of sycophants around him (Jonathan) made him believe that Obasanjo was useless and that backfired against them. I agree Obasanjo might be over-bearing sometimes, but the truth is that the strength of your self-will is what would either make you appreciate or dislike him.

He is destroyer of the nation.

Example of father of a nation is former Prime Minister of Singapore: Lee Kuan Yew.
Compare what the former prime minister achieved for his nation to what obasanjo did as leader.

Obasanjo led a developing country for 8 years and he developed nothing. When he was forced to leave, he brought a big problem on to the country by forcing through rigging those he believed in his mind that they cannot lead the country. But God shame him, goodluck jonathan performed better than him.

In nigeria there is nobody that can be called father of the nation, all those useless leaders that led the country are very useless people they could not build a virile, successful, reasonable and sensible country in 54 years. Habah, habah in 54 years. What a failed nation. What are useless "leaders".

GEJ didn't get booted out of office because he kept OBJ at arms length or refused to listen to him or emasculated him in PDP. If GEJ had not adopted corruption, embezzlement of public funds, impunity and anti-people policies as the cardinal point of his Administration, no matter how much OBJ worked against him, he would have failed.

If GEJ did not immediately after being elected, abandoned the masses who trusted and voted for him massively and embraced the few elites, choosing to enrich them to the detriment of Nigerians, our economy and institutions, no force on earth would have been able to unseat him from the seat of presidency.

How much dollars did he dole out to anyone in 2011. People voted him without having to be cajoled. He didn't need to visit any traditional leader.

GEJ failure has nothing to do with OBJ. He failed because him and his click of friends or sycophants turned themselves into the number one enemy of the masses. Another four years of GEJ's reign would have been a disaster the country may not be able to recover from.
