ronakoks: @Fhemmmy .. I noticed most canadian colleges don't have PGD but rather dey have wat dey call an advanced diploma.. If I applied for such a diploma can I safely apply to d canadian embassy with a diploma program.. I have a bsc in microbiology.. I. Know dat most embassies prefer to see student visa applications showing academic progression.. E.g u have a bsc and you are applyin to go do a masters programm. But a case were u have a bsc and u now applying to go do an advanced diploma, which I don't think is exactly a postgradute programe. What do you think.. Won't d CDHC frown at this kind off application? That is a common thing in canada, there are many PHd holder that are back in school doing some diploma. Canadian govt or the immigration department will not send you away cos you wanna do advance diploma, as long as they are able to prove that is what you wanna do, but they hate when they know for a fact that the applicant is only using that means to migrate to canada, they refer to that as back door, cos it is quicker than the regular permanent residence visa . . . . So it all depends on how you are able to package your application. Good luck (Quote) (Report) (Like) (Share) 2 Likes |

*clears throat*. "In my own opinion" Pls observe the statement in quote. You don't have to agree - Canada is like any other country such as the U.S. England, Spain, South Africa etc. The only reason they would issue a visa to you is because it benefits them in one way or another. Think of the tax they'll benefit from the payments you make on fees, accommodation and transport amongst other things and what it would do to their GDP. They don't care about you per say. Finances majorly is the key thing for these countries, nothing more. If you will abscond, abscond with money so you don't become a Menace and nuisance in your course of absconding. They really don't care if you do. In the long run, the longer U stay there, the better for them. you pay tax and your fees is three times more expensive as an international student, begs the question who's really gaining right? I feel the hometie and other reasons for denial comes as a result of not satisfying finances to the fullest. If they're not satisfied with your raw cash, they'll latch onto your liquid assets. Not because its a home tie but Cos if push comes shove, you'll have some more to spend in their country or go home. Them no dey tell person. So let's stop with the mentality that you need to own several hectares or what not. Show them you can afford to survive effortlessly and trust me the purpose of stay, length of study and all that grammar wouldn't be needed. You don't need to comment. Read, agree, disagree, hiss and move on. 14 Likes |

Dapsey66: Nice one but that's your own view of the process.......it may not be the case to a visa officer handling someone's application. Even if you have 300 million dollars to squander one still need to prove to the visa officer you are not a drug dealer trying to come to Canada to extend your drug business. Canada is very conscious of their country's reputation as one the peaceful and crime free country in the world. Nigeria is the only country I know that doesn't care about who emigrate into the country. I can't imagine how nigerian embassy screens emigrants in our embassies across the globe. Valid point McJimmy, very reasonable conclusion you arrived at. But of course, they do request sources of funds such as employment and all. Screening doesn't get better than that. That's why it takes time cod they have to verify all they can I presume. Mind you, drug lords are everywhere. The U.S. shares boundaries with one of the highest drug notorious countries in the world (Mexico). But I repeat, your point is very valid. |

herkenorlar: Well I fink he came home cos he actually wanted to... he would have actually gone for another program or better still stay in the country in as much as he doesn't pass his boundary. From facts, when u have studied for @ least two years and worked for at least a year(skilled work) u can apply for a permanent residence visa. Get more info from cic website |
