A pastor at Tungan-Maje, an Abuja suburb was on Wednesday arraigned before an Abuja Upper Area Court sitting at Zuba for allegedly defiling his friend’s 11-year-old daughter.
The police prosecutor, Momoh Ibrahim, told the court that the 45-year-old pastor committed the offence of gross indecency contrary to Section 285 of the Penal Code.
He said a neighbour of the accused, who happens to be his friend, had reported at the Zuba Police Station on March 23 that the accused took his daughter into his room on two occasions between 2014 and 2015, where he had carnal knowledge of her.
The prosecutor further informed the court that after the incident, the girl, aged 11, was taken to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital at Gwagwalada for medical examination.
When the charge was read to the accused, he denied the allegation and asked for bail.
Judge Aminu Sa’ad granted his bail application and adjourned the case till April 24 for hearing.

I think the media should learn to use a 'man' or 'woman' rather than title(s).

He walk through the valley of evil and was consumed I side it.......
If he hasn't attempted it no one would accuse him of such a grievous crime
Crime knows no title you call yourself but its self discipline and chastity that can make you survive and overcome

First of all this is an accusation and I didnt see any evidence from the report, how did the media carry this

Even if it is true, how did you come up with the title pastor? which church? Who ordained him? Now i am not saying that a pastor may not do that but the media now find a way of pulling traffic by looking for loop holes in the church.

It's a pity actually, but news like these are becoming more rampant everyday, kids are no longer safe with adults, be it religious clerics, well it's an unfortunate circumstance but if these go beyond control we might find it difficult to handle considering the growing population of churches in Nigeria.
