Nice one but that's your own view of the process.......it may not be the case to a visa officer handling someone's application. Even if you have 300 million dollars to squander one still need to prove to the visa officer you are not a drug dealer trying to come to Canada to extend your drug business. Canada is very conscious of their country's reputation as one the peaceful and crime free country in the world. Nigeria is the only country I know that doesn't care about who emigrate into the country. I can't imagine how nigerian embassy screens emigrants in our embassies across the globe. MayGodHelpUs

The Nigerian Visa is actually one of the most difficult visas to get. Nigeria might look so easy to you but it is very difficult to get the visa. They deny lots of foreigners because they believe they are coming to Nigeria to make money and when they finally arrive in Nigeria and establish their businesses, they still dont let them be, so dont think Nigeria doesnt care about who comes in.
In my opinion, the Canadian TRV is just God and at the discretion of the consular, it soley depends on their mood at the moment they attend to your documents, all things being equal. They have so much power that they can play god in their small cubicle. I agree with Dapsey to some extent because Canada doesnt want foreigners to become a burden to their economy. They want your money, they want it so bad that they will make applicants go through the rigorous process of applying for another TRV after an initial denial for not putting a "full stop" in your SOP.
All I have to say to applicants is to have a positive attitude from the onset (power of positive thinking), follow the rules, present the genuine documents requested, pray about it and be expectant. Many applicants I see here start panicking even before they secure an admission into a school in Canada (pathetic) and start doubting their chances of securing a TRV. Just relax, commit it into Gods hands and be expectant. If it doesnt work out at first, try, try and try again but do all with a positive attitude.

Sounds like you need to send your transcripts to WES to have it evaluated.

Eerrrm, This should be easy. Your current cgpa divided by the overall possible cgpa multiplied by 100 should give you the percentage. E.g 3.84/5.00 is 0.768 * 100 is 76.8 percent. That's an A standing.

Hi bro, are you sure you converted to JPEG first? By the way, SOP is 3.7mb? Shouldn't be more than 90kb. Convert pdf to jpeg, shrink in MSword and merge. If you have to use corel draw to reduce its resolution, you should.

You can do it ds way also. After scanning the docs, open one after the oda and look for snipping tool on ur PC to crop it.It will be reduce the document to something lik 50 or 60Kb depending on the file and it will be saved as jpeg file. Then copy the jpeg file that snipping tool has cropped into MS word and save it.Lastly, convert the MS word into pdf. gaskiya ni!!

Since you said no update on your "mycic account" I'm guessing you applied online,
You'll have to be patient and keep checking for updates on it, there are some people here who applied longer than that and haven't gotten any update too. So relax, pray and hope for the best also check ur spam mails from time to time, so ur medical mail dsnt hide there. Lol

Hi all, I need your humble advise
I have admissions for Msc Materials Engineering (mineral processing ) Mcgill University and Msc Petroleum Engineering Imperial college london. In any of the choices, I will be studying with a full scholarship up to the Phd level. How would you rate the mining and mineral processing industries in canada and whats the school life and job opportunities like as compared to uk. I am inclined to take the imperial offer but I get discouraged with the existent visa policy of the Uk. On the contrary, If one decides to come back to Nigeria Mining is not a big deal here, Petroleum is. Thank you guys for your suggestions.

Ps. My undergraduate degree was in Mining Engineering (1.1)

I have not been following the mining industry recently. It used to be a big industry in Canada, Australia, Asia and West Africa. A couple of my friends got jobs in Canada after their programme in the UK.

If you are keen on studying Mining Engineering and won't be more than 30 years on completion of your masters, I will advise you apply to CSM, University of Exeter for your programme. It has an international reputation. It used to be no 1 or 2 school in the mining industry. You can also get valuable contact there.

CSM graduates are respected and in high demand in the mining industry.

Cheers!
