We are used to the military planning and successfully taking over power from a civilian government both in nigeria and other african countries. Do u think the IGP(been the most senior police officer)can successfully plan a coup too?

Yeah he can but not on the General. if the situation is reversed he can succeed on the clueless GEJ. I'm sure the IGP won't know he's digging his own grave if he goes against the general.

It is an impossible task.. Even b4 the military can successfully plan a coup, it needs alot of infiltration of the Presidential guard..

Waitin come bring the coup matter now? Buhari is the President -Elect and will be sworn in on the 29th of May God's Grace. Just come to term with that and stop all this talks. Nobody talked about a Coup when Jonathan ruled absentmindedly for 6 years thereby causing us the greatest embarassement any president should ever have done.

technically its possible, coup is just like a group of armed men taking charge of a government by force. but since they aren't the strongest "armed group" which is the army they would eventually be overpowered as the military would be compelled to keep the situation under control... but the IG might be a wise fox that would have compromised the military (which is not easy as the military is a very organised institution ) .. let's say he managed to kill or imprison about a thousand high ranking military officer and he would make the junior officers swear allegiance.
