Nigerians una don see say kannywood differ from nollywood, it shows that the north is not part of Nigeria. That's why they say one north. Well una wey vote and rig in GMB una never start. Richiez:Northern Nigeria movie industry (in the same way you have the yoruba movie industry, nollywood [nigerian movies in english language], etc. Kannywood movies are mainly in hausa language). It's centred around the city of Kano, that's why it's called Kannywood. naptu2:I think its actually good to diversify movies, however, movies and those that are public figures should come out and take stand against issues affecting their own regions/towns. It's not about just posting pics with Buhari and thinking you have tried. |

mensdept:I agree with you and many nigerian artists do speak up about issues affecting society, but you know that Nigerian society is not a particularly tolerant society. People who speak up run the risk of upsetting governments and influential people which might result in time in jail and even death. |
