In poitics there are no permanent friends only permanent interests. It would amount to gross foolishness to still be seen as aligned with the out-going president. For example, if you were a contractor for a government project, even if it was secured through the influence of the out-going government, change in power would mean change of the source of funding. Do you then cling foolishly to the former and end up seeming antagonistic to the latter.
