It is not about my Self esteem, it is about being objective and comparing Nigeria side by side with other Nations. Please tell us the spectacular results that we have achieved as a Nation? There is no point beating our drums when the facts speaks for itself...

* Our population is more than South Africa, Kenya and Ethiopia, yet these countries have won more than 4 times more medals than us in the Olympics.
* Take a look at our power sector, we can't boast of a consistent 8 hours of electricity everyday.

we need to achieve more and stop beating our chest... countries with lesser population and lesser natural resources are way ahead of us (e.g Japan, South Korea etc.)

Even though, these are facts, the reality on the ground is that Nigeria is way ahead of some African countries. With our pulsating entertainment scene and the economy growth – ( Nigeria has the largest economy in Africa ), we can make a case for ‘African exceptionalism”. Although, Nigeria is confronting some major challenges, we are still standing out in Africa. There is nothing that Nigerians would not protest these days, it is either they are fighting for the government to increase their salaries, demand for justice or cut down the fuel pump price. These protests always put our issues on the political agenda. The streets and the internet has become our warfronts and the pages of blogs are where we lash out their anger on anything displeasing. Nigerians have perfected the act of going for protest and they are never too shy to go public with their grievances.

I don't think so.

When you have a population like rabbits you are certainly bound to have a sizeable number of people out of the mass morons do well and shine the light on the country. Big deal.

However, if you do the Maths by the ratios of population and the so-called distinct qualities I bet Nigeria will be at the bottom of the barrel.

Example, if Nigeria a population of 180m has 2 Nobel price winners and a country of 10m has 1 Nobel price winner, which country is great as you are trying to make us believe.

Btw, You are blowing your horns and ignoring the fact that Nigeria is simply lucky to be endowed with some natural resources which other African countries don't have and has made Nigeria what it is today so don't let it get into your heads.

Nigerians are in no way better than any other Africans.

The qualities which makes Nigerian different is nothing to write home about.
