Yes BHE attended end of August. In Nairobi, Kenya. I'm from Mozambique. I think the oil low prices might be the reason there is no activity. Meanwhile, I'm going to further my education whilst I wait - never rely on an oil and gas company. Move on with your life and if they contact you good! If they don't, at least you didn't wait. These people are callous and only driven by profits. Don't be a victim of theirs.
Sadly, many Nigerians arent seeing it this way...

Hello,
I am writing in hopes that I will find someone facing the same issue as me, or maybe someone can give me some advice.
I applied for Graduate Engineering Position (2015) in September last year. After I passed the interview with Hire View and the language test, I attended to the Baker Hughes experience in Ankara, Turkey (November). After one day, they called and told me I got the interview.
After this, they sent me the offer and they made me even the background screening.
Since I graduated PhD in November, we agreed together with the HR Manager to start on 1st March, 2015. I must specify the position is for Romania, Ploiesti.
But, two weeks before starting work with BH, they called and told me that I cannot start now, only in November 2015, because of the merger with Halliburton and because of the oil price.
My disappointment is huge because I do not know what to think cry.
Is there someone in the same situation as me, or do you know someone that has happened the same?
Is there any possibility that the employment offer to be cancelled?
Your experiences and your views will be morally, very helpful for me.
Thank you!

I think I may speak for majority of the ppl on glassdoor and here when I say that most ppl here who applied after sept 2014 and got through to interview or had their applications rejected. Though the former ones are still awaiting on Baker Hughes Experience Day.

In regards to the reasons why Baker Hughes may not be recruiting this year, you are probably right because couple of days ago somebody from Latin America commented on this forum that the HR there informed them they can't recruit anymore atleast not for this year. Therefore both the merger and oil prices both may have played part in abandoning recruitment for this year. But Baker Hughes North America is still hiring graduates very much. So its slightly incredulous with the information the HR around different continents are telling their applicants. Secondly, other companies like Weatherford are still hiring around the globe, so it makes me question whether the oil prices really have had drastic effect on hiring.

Furthermore, from my experience of talking with HR reps of many companies and personally one of my cousins is HR for multinational, I understand that they will just about say anything to ensure they have you whenever they want even if it means they won't be hiring you anytime soon, much to the applicant's chagrin! Furthermore, they advertise entry level roles in EU around Sept of every year atleast they have been for 2 straight years so it makes me question whether they will ask you to go through the whole ordeal. I presume not because you already had background screening done. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend you apply else where or take a research fellowship position in the EU and not waste any more time with them. By November, if they happen to go come your way, you can always go work for them. Just ask yourself, if it worth wasting so much time?

Hope this helps x

Hi fellows,

Some weeks ago I shared what was my situation with Baker Hughes, to fresh your mind, I'm the guy from Brazil.

So, Since that post, I'd been sent several e-mails for the HR rep that was getting in touch with me through the recruitment process. I've got all rejected. It made me search for her at LinkedIn. After a small search I could find her.

And after some messages she told me what was happening by now in Baker Hughes/Halliburton.

They are about to merge and, as all you know, they are (were) direct competitor of each other... So that they have several sectors that are going to double when they merge. Because of that they're re-structuring and planning all company HR. That's one reason (of lots) that they're standing by recruitments all over the world.

Well, after all she told me she got fired. All she knew about the process I was in she told me. This year most likely won't have any trainee recruitment in Latin-American Countries. But, they'll contact those who were in advanced phase in this year process for the nexts years recruitment....

That's why I decided to move on for while...

Hi, I am from Gabon as well and I have come here to confirm that I received the same email.
In my case, I was on the verge of attending the BHE, we were 10 selected for the event.
We filled tge the fibal form with passport photos and updated cv.
The email I received today said that the Graduate Field engineer position for Gabon, which I applied for has been "CANCELLED".
I wrote 'CANCELLED" in capital letters to emphasize on the fact that I passed succesfully every stage of the recruitment process which would imply that Bakerhughes has cancelled every graduate field engineer position all over the world.

Let's be strong and move on!!!!!

This forum has been great!!!

Hi.
pls I'd like to know: did you get the conditional offer mail from BH stating your Product line(Department ) and other forms to fill? were you also sent for a medical test in your country ?
I'm asking because peeps in Nigeria who got all those haven't yet received any mail saying the Recruitment has been cancelled.
Re: Baker Hughes 2015 Graduate Field Engineer! by Nykster: 2:26pm On May 03, 2015
Yes, got conditional offers but unfortunately didn't get to medical stage.
I suggest you forget about BH and move on with your life. Stop prolonging your pain. If they can cancel graduate programs in Europe/North America/Asia, why would they keep the Nigerian one intact
Free yourself from this bondage!
Re: Baker Hughes 2015 Graduate Field Engineer! by bisiboom: 6:10pm On May 03, 2015
hmm. i thought the conditional offer mail goes with the medical screening. Anyways, thanks for your response.
Cheers mate!
