In order to ensure that no electoral violence or snatching of sensitive and non sensitive materials are witnessed during the rerun election in IMO state ,weekend, the electoral umpire says 10 security personnel have been posted to each polling station.

At a press conference in Owerri, Thursday, the head of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC ,in the state, Dr Gabriel Adah informed that his commission has ample security men for the election.

Dr Adah said that the commission was partnering with all the security chiefs in the state who have promised to mobilize enough personnel for the all important rerun election.

The state Resident Electoral Commissioner further communicated that for the fact that the election would conducted in limited places across the state, gives INEC more opportunities to post more security men to election units in order to maintain law and order on the election day.
Dr Adah who said that he was aware of the allegation from different political parties against him,said that his motive remains to conduct credible election in the state.

He asserted that the presence of more security men in various polling stations ,weekend, is to make sure that hoodlum do not hijack the process.

I hope the police are not just there to make up the numbers because 10 policemen that are not properly equiped cannot stand the political thugs holding AK47
