1. The board cannot produce advertisement for the program.
2. They refuse to provide list of all applicants.
3. The list of board members that selected the beneficiaries cannot be provided.
4. No evidence of where the board members sat to deliberate on proceedings.

Someone is being mischievous mentioning Wike, the last set of awards were advertised in September 2014 when Shekarau was already the substansive minister. Nyesom Wike was only in charge of the ministry of education from September 2013 to March 2014 when he resigned to contest for the elections. Prior to that fro 2010 to sept 2013 there was woman as the Miniter of Education, Ruqquyat Ruffai, who presided over the first PRESSID awards. Shekarau was in charge for this latest awards from start to finish so why didn't they mention his name and mention Wike. I am not from Rivers state, I don't live there and I don't know Wike. He may be the worst human being in the world but there is something called being fair.

There were Northerners on the list, I think about 20 from the north Central, the only region in the North with some love for education. There NW and NE didn't have up to 5 cos of their general 'backwardness' when it comes to education.

i agree with you dear but where i have a problem is in this.

If a pupil from anambra state will have to score at least 137 to gain admition into unity school (fed gov col) & a pubil from zamfara will score 20 to get admition into the same school.
Dont you think that tells us more than we are hearing?

The difference between 137 & 20 is 117... Some of us would want to believe that the north is not backward but what we see in reality affects our believe about the north & attitude towards education.

As long as the initial process was transparent,even if all Aminu Suleiman wants are put in place,the same pattern of results would be recorded.
This house committee chairman should go find out why the north is not churning out 1st class graduates then he should go back and evaluate his performance in the position he occupies with special reference to the north.

Why burn the midnight candle and suffer yourself like the 'silly' southern youth do when there's quota system, federal character and nepotism to help you get a foot in the door.....to get into the federal civil/public service; get juicy billion dollar federal gov't contracts; or get fedral gov't assisted monopolies over the 'pesky' southerners!?
