Okay. The word 'christian' used here refers to churchgoers, and not necessarily those that are truly born-again.

1) The Obeying Believer:
Usually young believers. Fervent, doing all the Bible says. Ready to win the world for Jesus. The 'bless you, brother' folks.

2) The Doubting Believer:

After few fervent years, starts doubting 'this and that' in the Bible. Now argues so many things in the Bible, especially the difficult ones. The 'maybe that's not what God meant" folks.

3) The Disobeying Believer:

After many years of doubting and arguing, they take the Bible with levity. Claim getting to heaven is not by works, but by the death of Jesus. The "Jesus has paid the price" folks.

4) The Disobeying Unbeliever:

After years of disobeying God, they become cold. Still in church, but believes the idea of God is a scam. The "there is no heaven or hell" folks.

Now, where do you belong?

No 3 is not a disobeying believer. You can't gain eternal life by your works but by grace which rests on the finished work of Christ on the cross

You choose to call us disobeying believers, God sees and calls us otherwise. And that's where i fall.

genuine faith in God will produce good works that's what James means

Yep!

That means, if there is no good work (fruits of obedience), then one's claim of faith in God is questionable.

God don't expect us to be without mistakes, but He doesn't want us to be disobedient fellows.

If our will, decision and action are irrelevant as you paint, then we are no more than robots.

God's spirit in us is our strenght to obey, but we must choose to yeild. God never compel us. We choose, even salvation.
