Super Eagles skipper, Vincent Enyeama, suffered a humiliating defeat in the Ligue 1 on Saturday as his team, Lille, were thrashed 6-1 by reigning French champions, PSG, at the Parc des Princes.

A hattrick from Ezequiel Lavezzi, a brace from Edinson Cavani and a strike from left back Maxwell may have finally dashed the hopes of Enyeama and his Lille teammates making it for next season’s Europa league competition and also ended the three-match winning streak of Lille.

PSG were in control after less than a minute through Maxwell after he turned in Serge Aurier’s cross in the first minute.

The win puts PSG three points clear of Lyon at the top of the table.

Saturday’s woeful outing for Enyeama is in sharp contrasts to his heroics last weekend which saw him named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week.
Enyeama has now conceded 33 goals in 33 appearances in the Ligue 1 averaging a goal per game for the Nigerian skipper.
He has, however, kept 14 clean sheets

Its one of those things. Even great keepers like Casillas, Van da Saar etc has had woeful score lines at some point of their careers. Doesn't make them less respected.

Some people will soon come here and start criticizing enyeama forgetting that last week he basically saved his team and was d best keeper in d whole league.

The fact is that every keeper will always have days like this. This season Courtois of Chelsea conceded 5 against tottenham despite playing under a coach who usually sets his team up very well defensively.
Casillas conceded 5 against Holland at d world cup. Sceczny of arsenal conceded 6 goals twice in a season against Chelsea and man city and also conceded 5 against Liverpool dat same season yet heavens did not fall.

The same enyeama that conceded 6 goals has kept a whooping 14 clean sheets this season. Go figure.

I saw the goals. I blame the defence because most of the goals were cheap, he wasn't really to blame.

Even Gianluigi Buffon endured a 4-0 hammering in the hands of AS Roma in the 2009/2010 season. No matter how good a goalkeeper is, such days usually come once in a while.
