Futility Of Intolerance --Attorney Patryk Utulu by PatrykUtulu(op):
FUTILITY OF INTOLERANCE
--Attorney Patryk Utulu*

IT HAS BECOME CLEAR: many Nigerians, especially APC partisans need a crash course in the basic difference between theocratic leadership and Nigeria's Constitutional republic. Some are genuinely surprised, confused and angry that other Nigerians dare mention President-elect Buhari in any context that does not involve praise and subservience. Many who rabidly exercised their democratic right to reject President Jonathan now appear wounded and bitter at the notion that any Nigerian would not accept that a president-elect has over-lordship rights to the loyalty and unquestioned support of all Nigerians.

As a human you are free to make yourself a slave to worship another human and to kiss the floor, dance on your head or kowtow at the mere mention of his name. That's OK. That is your choice. Just DON'T expect other Nigerians to be part of your mental slavery. WE DO NOT WORSHIP ANY PERSON UNDER OUR CONSTITUTION and the rejection of a politician is NOT hatred or treasonous.

Every Nigerian politician begged, bartered and bantered with Nigerians for the opportunity to serve our nation. We did not conscript any person to serve. They begged us. When a person submits his name for public office he automatically agrees to be evaluated, criticized and questioned on his actions and omissions. We want Nigerian Presidents to succeed and we will applaud their good policies.

That is part of democracy. But there is no infallibility. There is no messiah among Nigerian politicians. All politicians are human and they all make mistakes. And as we are already seeing they all make excuses too. It is our duty as citizens to point out their mistakes. NIGERIANS WHO CANNOT TOLERATE OUR DEMOCRATIC PLURALISM should avoid democratic platforms, including Facebook. They may also seriously consider RELOCATING TO PAKISTAN, YEMEN, BHUTAN or other such places where leaders are heiled as perfect and wise, even as they use tools of science and modernity to deny the existence of science, relativity and human rights.

So, please adapt or spare yourself the futility of impotent rage: Because democratic CRITICISM or REJECTION of any occupant of the Nigerian Presidency will go on, every day, for the next 4 years...and beyond.

The is enlighten and inform those who feel Buhari is god and shouldn't be criticised.
It is to say that I for instance shouldn't be abused if I point out he joined the army without papers.
