Help Save Vivian's Life. by TochiPhotos(m): 10:47am On Mar 13, 2015
"When Vivian was your 10 months old, she fell ill and was crying and vomiting I took her to the hospital thinking it was something minor. She was diagnosed and the doctor told us she has acyanotic congenital heart condition. A hole in the heart. I didn't fully understand what he meant then. I was just hearing about that type of sickness for the first time. They said she needs to be flown to India for a corrective surgery since then we've been trying to raise the money. We've gone to the Lagos state Government and they told us that funds to take care of such issues hasn't been released we've been placed on waiting for a long time. We also went to Kanu heart foundation and we were shocked when they gave us forms and told us to use it to go and appeal for funds from our friends that we are responsible for raising the money. Since then we've been going up and down and no success yet. Her case is getting worse and last month she started vomiting blood from the nose and mouth, we rushed her to the hospital and they said they were signs of respiratory distress, tachycardia and further features of heart disease were confirmed. The doctor advised we do the surgery as fast as possible. I can't stand seeing her in pains, each time I just start crying and asking why her? Why She has to suffer like this. I just feel helpless whenever I see her in pains like we are just watching her and counting down."

Little Vivian has acyanotic congenital heart defect (a hole in the heart) we are currently raising funds for her surgery in India. So far we've raised $2,145 and we still need $12,755 to meet the target. The doctors advised the surgery be carried out as soon as possible. To donate visit the gofundme link page http://www.gofundme.com/ojv9zs God bless you as you help save vivian's life. Please share this post so it can reach others.

I met Vivian and her mum for the first time last week on a project I'm working on. The Humans Of Lagos. It's a street photography project www.nairaland.com/2087155/humans-lagos-street-photography-project/15#31558090

The initial plan was to share the story and try to get celebrities or an NGO to help handle it but lots of people suggested we open an online fundraiser and see what we can contribute on our own without waiting on anyone. So far over two thousand dollars has been donated and an NGO United for kids foundation and a few others has reached out and United for kids foundation met with Vivian's mum today together and are sorting out the documentations and finding a forward. She will be taken to Lasuth again to access the situation and start talking with hospitals in India. The problem is that most of the NGOs don't have the funds readily available and would still need to source for cash and that's what we are trying to achieve with this donations try to meet the target and send her to India or wait for an NGO whichever comes first.

Please donate and help save Vivian. http://www.gofundme.com/ojv9zs

In just 2 days we've been able to raise $3,160 for Vivian. It's so amazing what you guys have done so far thanks to all those tagging friends, reposting and sharing this. And special thanks to all the people who donated. We still need $11,840 left to meet the target. I believe we can do this. And thanks to all those who suggested an NGO or the other. United Kids foundation met with Vivian's mum yesterday and they've started making arrangements, going through the documents and getting in touch with Hospitals in India. Let's do this people. To donate visit the gofundme link http://www.gofundme.com/ojv9zs please mention friends who haven't seen this and repost on your page. Thanks people... You guys are amazing. God bless you all.

In 7 days we've raised $5,180 this is amazing. The support has been massive. Thanks to all the wonderful people who donated and also to everyone one who has been supporting in one way or the other sharing the post and tagging friends... We couldn't have gotten this far without you. Visited the family yesterday to update them about the donations and show them the amount of love and support Vivian is getting and they are thankful. Didn't get to see Vivian she went to school(she misses her friends and has been asking to go to school) she is a strong girl and we hope she will join her classmates full time when this is over. Also got from her mum that she barely eats, hasn't been breathing well and her stomach is a bit bloated. We still need $9,820 to meet the target. Let's do this. Please share this and tag friends who you think might be able to help.

Job well done sir... I have a quick question.
What will be an estimated cost to diagnose the exact kind of heart condition some1 has?
One of my students in my PPA has a heart condition but they're so poor d financial implications of going for comprehensive tests scare the students' mum.
Gracias

Arrangements are been made to fly her out. We haven't been able to get the complete funds and it's holding it back. A few NGOs have gotten involved and once it's finalized I will update the page about her progress.

We are deeply saddened to inform you that Vivian has passed away. She died Saturday evening after complaining of severe stomach pain. Her death came as a shock to her family and everyone involved, she has been feeling a lot better recently and was strong enough to attend school on Friday.
Before her untimely death, arrangements were still going on to find a hospital that would agree to do the surgery as all the others reached out before said it was rather too late to perform a curative surgery.
She was strong till the end and always excitedly talked about how she can't wait to 'enter' a plane and see white people. Her teary mum told us how she kept asking when they would go to Church for her testimony and thanks giving. Her 'Mummy when are we going for testimony?' became more frequent this past week and like Vivian, we all looked forward to that special day we would put up a post, her surgery success story and gladly tell ourselves we did it, gladly tell ourselves we rallied around and helped save little Vivian.
It's been so hard to accept that she is gone but knowing that she is now in a better place and would never know pain again makes it easier. May God be with her family and give them the strength to bear. May Vivian's gentle soul rest in peace Amen.

The $12,113 raised for her surgery was not used and we will leave our followers to suggest what should be done with the money, we will also send an email to the 315 people that donated, inform them about this development and ask if they would like a refund or let the money be used for what our followers suggest.
Thanks to each and everyone that contributed in one way or the other.. God bless you all.
