Ndigbo Group Asks Gov. Obiano To Stop Seeking Slot In Buhari’s Government

Abuja ‎, By A‎desuwa Tsan

— Apr 27, 2015 9:35 am | 1 Comment

An Igbo socio-political pressure group, Maka Odinma Anambra, has enjoined Governor Willie Obiano and other leaders of the South East to stop embarrassing the zone by seeking to get positions in the incoming Gen Muhammadu Buhari’s administration which they refused to support in the March 28th election.

In a press release the group signed by its secretary, Emeka Nwazue, and made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday, the group stated that it was shameful that the governor pledged to give support to the same man who he had earlier labelled a “jihadist”.’

‎The group called on “Governor Willie Obiano and other leaders of the South East to stop embarrassing the zone by their cavalier and shameless attempt to jump onto the Buhari victory train, which they naively refused to board only few weeks earlier.”

This reprimand came on the heels of last Friday’s visit by Governor Obiano to President- elect Buhari.

‎”We wonder whether it was the same man who throughout the electioneering period urged his party members not to vote for a ” Jihadist”and a party belonging to the Hausa/Yoruba ethnic nationalities.

“It is either Governor Obiano’s mathematics does not add up, or in a desperation to display unbridled loyalty, he mixed up the figures. Pray, if he pledges to give the General the same 100 percent support which he said he gave to President Jonathan before, during and after the general election, then it goes without question that he obviously gave General Buhari zero support during the election that won him victory”.

“For a man who openly said before the election that any Igbo who vote for APC is a bastard and an enemy of Biafra, and who also used machinery of his government to suppress the interests of General Buhari and his All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in both the presidential, national and state assembly elections barely one month ago, to seek to benefit from his perfidy clearly fore-grounds the new abyss into which leadership appear to be sinking in the South East geo-political zone, especially Anambra”, the socio-political organisation said.

“There is everything wrong in attempting to Nicodemously foist on himself the leadership of the Igbo race, or it’s elected officials – as his posturing during the visit suggested – especially as those who assiduously worked for the glory which he seeks to appropriate, such as Governor Rochas Okorocha, Senator Chris Ngige, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu and the Hon. Afam Ogene, amongst others, have not embarked upon the kind of booty-begging adventure which he undertook.

“As a mather of fact, we urge Gov. Obiano to remain in the All Proressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which he steadily decimates with each passing day, instead of seeking to pollute current attempts at strengthening the APC in the South east geo-political zone”, Maka Odinma Anambra stated.

Whenever I hear or read about the Biafra chant, all I can say is that its quite impossible to achieve. The division among the blocks that make up the region is questionable. I have read of just that of IMO alone where the Mbaise clan is almost ostracized from other Igbo clans. The association just can't see the light of the day. Its high time the old eastern block appreciate and embrace change. In that we would move forward as a country and not this back and forth movement that doesn't seem to help the common man.
People like you make me laugh. ..You read about Mbaise clan on NL, right ..On Abia guber elections, right?

OK o.

This is shameful i must admit.

Why the booty-begging? He'd sit his azz down and continue his good work in Anambra. Buhari is the President of Nigeria and not that of SW, NC and NE. If he forgets other regions, he'll pay dearly for it. The North didn't vote GEJ but he took them along. No need for all these unnecessary politicking. GMB must take every region along, he has no choice.

GMB: Gov. Obiano, I am going to ask only once, and once alone, to pledge your allegiance to "Emperor - elect".
Willie: Your Excellency Sir; I, and on behalf of the entire Igbo race - at home and in diaspora, pledge 100% allegiance to your government.

mr A and mr B are friends. mr A says mr B is problematic and useless, so mr B says "I want to go; let's end d friendship" and mr A is refusing. Then from the foregoing, we can infer that mr B is indispensable and mr A is likely a parasite and short on self-confidence. Actions speak louder than words. This typifies d rship btwn d south east and d rest of Nigeria. Nobody desperately craves d company of a useless man. Common sense.

When he said he will support buharis govt there is no wrong in it, because he is a governor in nigeria, buhari is the president of nigeria and not of a region or of a party, states is what made up the name nigeria, and every states no matter the party the governors are from are nigerian states amd to be taken care of accordingly. Those people complaining are the ones lookking for position, already obiano is the governor i dont see what he needs appoint for.
