I am yet to understand why drug dealings carry death penalty. What about other capital punishments? What will killing them about to? If one says it will warn others from trailing that path then the aim Is defeated because a lot of people are still taking that path; people that don't fear death. They rather die than remain poor

It is also a secular country.

At independence in 1948...there was a big conference...and the Indonesians decided to run a secular government....with full rights for religious and tribal minorities.

It is the same situation in Malaysia and to some extent Turkey.

And Singapore....not a Muslim country....has draconian punishments for drug traffickers too.
I wonder why Asian countries are the targets for these drug couriers though

Actually...most every country has a drug problem. Check out South/Central North America's drug trade...where some of the drug cartels are even small armies in their own right. Russia too and Iran also have issues . And Africa is not far behind....Guinea Bissau is now a major drug transit point.(We used to be that...until IBB established the NDLEA in 1989).

cry undecided lipsrsealed don't do drugs; people don't do drugs. I've never touched sh.it in my life but the fear I have for Indonesia, Malaysia and co won't allow me even venture there. Just imagine if one kain, one kain they pick me @d airport for being a Nigerian!

Gosh! By the way why not lethal injection - its more humane.

Many of the pharma companies that manufacture the pharmaceutics/chemicals used for lethal injection now no longer allow their drugs to be used for such. (That is why the US...which uses lethal injection...is now having problems sourcing the chemicals).

concerning valuing lives, I think the criminals are the ones who actually didn't value human lives. if they do they would not be dealing in hard drugs which destroys many lives.
