Leave Islam out of this. This is not a religious law. Drug trafficking is frowned upon by almost all the countries on this earth. Some kill, some choose not to kill the offenders. Laws are laws. If you break the law, you pay for it. Simple. The drug peddlers knew the penalty for drug trafficking and still indulged in it. It's like knowing a lion is in a cage and you enter there with no weapons and expect to come out alive? Are sick upstairs?

If only this kind of death penalty existed for our corrupt leaders whose looting sprees led these men to engage in nefarious activities, Nigeria would've been ridden of evil and heartless leaders.

I think China have capital punishment (death penalty) for corrupt leaders that embezzle the funds of the country, are they an Islamic country too? These laws are meant to fight evil. If we had such laws in Nigeria, that bastard T.A Orji would've been killed by now. Laws are laws. If you can't respect them, don't enter the country.
if you know his number, help me to call him and explain to him if that will be more effectively, i think he is weak reading texts. They found people guilty of a crime and the judgement states that they kill them for the offence committed, what does Islamic or Nigerian law has to do with Indonesian's land law. My prayer is that our closed ones (even us) will not fall victims. That is why u need to warn ur siblings and loved ones living in Malaysia, Indonesia and strict law abiding countries very well, a word is enuff for the wise. don't u think that by bending their laws, it weakens the law system which is obtainable in Nigeria and having negative effect in the our Law System. One thing we dont realize is that, assuming that 50 yr old man was successful in that trip, he would have made enuff money and he would have been one of our Senators by now. by that He will sniff heroine before going to NASS for seating and immediately when somebody gets him upset, he will use the maze on the person's head just like what happened in the Rivers State House (Not meant to insult anybody's father o, but just imagining how somebody can do that to a fellow elected member of House if he is not under the influence of ............ ).

We wish Buhari as President - elect should intervene in the death sentences of our brother Nigerians. This can be commuted into life imprisonment.

God does not want the death of a sinner but to repent!
Sai Buhari!!!!!!

A Brazilian was executed. Brazil's presido intervened personally.....but nothing happened.

Two Australians are about to be executed. Their prime minister has tried everything...nothing/zero happened.

Too painful, human laws are this barbaric and yet we expect God to be merciful to us when err because he is God...Does it mean there are no other options like life imprisonment for drug trafficking In Indonesia?

A local television station in Indonesia has broadcasted a chilling re-enactment of how executions are carried out in Indonesia. It was broadcasted to millions of viewers yesterday and is set to become a brutal reality for the 4 Nigerians involved.

Come Wednesday, April 29th, Nigerians - Martin Anderson, 50, Okwudili Oyatanze, 41, Jamiu Owolabi Abashin, 50, and Silvester Obiekwe Nwolise, 47, will be executed in Indonesia just after the stroke of midnight. They were found guilty of drug trafficking and will be shot to death by a firing squad.

The men are expected to be led from their isolated cells in Death Island through a wildly dense tropical forest to a place called Nirbaya - or more appropriately known as Death Valley.

The condemned pair will be given white clothing to wear, which symbolises the afterlife, before
beginning their fatal trek and are given the option to be blindfolded with a piece of fabric before facing the firing squad who will be lined up anywhere from five to 10 metres in front of them.

The confronting decisions continue for the death row inmates with the opportunity to choose whether to stand, sit or kneel before a cross is placed over their hearts acting as a target for the 12 riflemen - of which nine will have blanks and only three will have live rounds.

Each prisoner is offered 3 minutes to calm down but if necessary their hands or feet will be tied to a 3m high pole or worse still - a wooden execution chair.

The 12 marksmen are then ordered to fire at them. And after the shooting, if doctors confirm that there are still signs of life in them, the commander will shoot the inmates in the head.

well, they all knew what they were getting into. Now that's a country that doesn't bend it laws to accommodate few individuals.... #Dada is Death...nothing and no one can bail them out not even d pope

I've this overwhelming feeling of sympathy for them. If only our past and present leaders had consciences and returned the over 500 billion of Dollars stolen from our coffers, invested them in this country and provided employment for these men, these men would have still been alive.

But now they will die no thanks to Abacha, Babangida, OBJ, Atiku, Tinubu, GEJ, Diezani, FFK, T.A Orji and other worthless leaders that have turned looting to their favorite pastime.

This country is heading to the gallows. If our leaders didn't embezzle all our money, imagine how easy life would have been for us. What led us to this stage? S.Ans kill us. In U.K, we're killed. In U.S.A, Nigerians are killed. Even in C.A.R, Nigerians are killed. All over the world, we suffer public disgrace. If not for our corrupt leaders, tell me what a Nigerian should be doing in Somali all in the name of green pastures. Our leaders have ruined us. We've refineries, they don't work. We've crude oil, yet we can't refine them. No freely available water. No good roads. No quality education and health care. These simple things of life we ought to have as a must, we lack them. why can't nigerian authorities screen people leaving this country for whatever reason, screen them, coloborate with the destination country. Get info on their hosts.. i believe we can lessen this 'drug related' embarrassment with the right policies.
The problem is that most of them leave Nigeria illegally nd enter these countries in the same manner....

Thousands of people die from drugs or are wasted for life and u feel the drug smugglers death is barbaric?
Every one knows the laws in asian countries including islamic countries but the drug smugglers felt they could out smart them

If this kinda punishment is introduced in nigeria to even cover armed robbery and rape.... Nigeria will be one of the safest countries to live in

I love all the points you raised above. My only worry was where you said other countries are killing us, very correct but the Nigerian leaders themselves are killing us and that is why our leaders cannot ask other world leaders to stop killing Nigerians. Very sad. When GMB was a military ruler, he did same to drug peddlers too. We have a problem in this country and May mother nature help us all.

Funny how Islamophobes like you always put blame on on Islam on whatever Muslims do. Would it be fair to blame Christianity on every law passed in countries with Christian population?
FYI drug trafficking does not even carry capital punishment in Islamic Sharia Law. But of course you know Indonesia is not practicing Sharia Law.
