They need to put these pictures in all their embassies so that visa applicants will know what they are risking if they choose to carry drugs into their country. While I do not like execution for drug dealers, we have to understand that the law was in existence before these people chose to risk their lives by getting themselves involved in drug business.

Let me say drug dealers create a market for themselves. One of their strategy is to pry on those who look worried and confused or sick. They will offer you at first and second time for free. Then you start chasing them. Families are being destroyed. Here in SA they use corner stands mostly as fronts meanwhile they lure the young and naïve, the old and disturbed.

I disagree with you on what let them into Drug peddling. Fine its bad for our leaders to loot but looting has nothing to do with drug peddling. What about those citizens of Australia? is Australia not a better Country than Nigeria? They wanted to make fast money and they got caught (though i hate the idea of killing them) but there are millions of Nigerians struggling to make it including my self but i wont do drug and other illegal means of making fast money. Imagine Raheem Agbaje Salami, KWAM1 used to sing to praise him and now he is caught what do u say about that?

So if unemployment (caused by our leaders) was low, these people would have resorted to drugs? Did you see the millions of unemployed youths that participated in last year's exercise (Immigration job) that left some dead? How many Australians are on the news for pushing drugs compared to Nigerians abroad that push drug like wheelbarrows? huh

Leave Islam out of this. This is not a religious law. Drug trafficking is frowned upon by almost all the countries on this earth. Some kill, some choose not to kill the offenders. Laws are laws. If you break the law, you pay for it. Simple. The drug peddlers knew the penalty for drug trafficking and still indulged in it. It's like knowing a lion is in a cage and you enter there with no weapons and expect to come out alive? Are sick upstairs?

If only this kind of death penalty existed for our corrupt leaders whose looting sprees led these men to engage in nefarious activities, Nigeria would've been ridden of evil and heartless leaders.

I think China have capital punishment (death penalty) for corrupt leaders that embezzle the funds of the country, are they an Islamic country too? These laws are meant to fight evil. If we had such laws in Nigeria, that bastard T.A Orji would've been killed by now. Laws are laws. If you can't respect them, don't enter the country.

Don't bring religion into this, Western countries have done worst. Indonesia has its laws and you're required to obey them, moreover they aren't the only ones executing! Go and check the effects of drugs and you'll cry!

If one says it will warn others from trailing that path then the aim Is defeated because a lot of people are still taking that path; people that don't fear death. They rather die than remain poor

Believe me without jail or defau penalty. Even I would be selling drugs so don't say punishment doesn't work. Its meant to reduce the problem to barest minimum. Instead of 4 drug dealers they might have 400 out of the 4000 roaming the streets. Look at america lots of gangs cos they know they will only get jail time

I've this overwhelming feeling of sympathy for them. If only our past and present leaders had consciences and returned the over 500 billion of Dollars stolen from our coffers, invested them in this country and provided employment for these men, these men would have still been alive.

If not for our corrupt leaders, tell me what a Nigerian should be doing in Somali all in the name of green pastures. Our leaders have ruined us. We've refineries, they don't work. We've crude oil, yet we can't refine them. No freely available water. No good roads. No quality education and health care. These simple things of life we ought to have as a must, we lack them. I weep for this country. I wonder if Karma really exist. Because while the poor masses suffer, the rich get richer and live longer. This country irritates me.

U 4got to mention that there is no electricity too! PDP ruined dis country!

Drug dealing is the cause of a lot of poverty and deaths. Drug dealers are as bad as killers because soo many people die from their drugs. Drug dealers are the scum of society and I wish other countries dealt with them in the same manner. If u cannot simply abide by d laws of a country, den do not go dere. If u happen to be a victim do not blame d system, but rada blame urself. I culd remember I heard d president of Indonesia saying drugs has claim d lives of many Indonesians and thousands more are in rehab. Though is a sad thing for somone's life to be taken away especially ur dear country men. Just look at d drug war going on in Mexico thousands are been killed every year. Its beta to kill a few and save d lives of millions.

what qualifies a sin to warrant harsher punitive measures than another?
Every body commenting on this thread today has committed one wrong doing or another.
The difference lies in the fact that you committed it in another country( other than Indonesia) and probably wasn't caught. Also some were lucky to never commit these wrongdoings again. Now tell me, what moral justification does any of us have in castigating these 8 individuals. Some people have pilfered money, committed fornication, committed abortions etc. Now how heinous are the crimes committed to warrant such inhumane punishment.
Will this killings deter or reduce the number of people trafficking in drugs worldwide?
How perfect is their criminal and justice system that the guilt of the 8 condemned persons is beyond doubt. For all we know some of them may be innocent. Just a question of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
