Having served as the former governor of Abia state who is widely recognized as the best the state has ever had as well as serving as a chieftain in the leading political party of the federal republic of Nigeria, you don't need a wizard or a soothsayer to tell you this is the qualified man for this post. This man contributed greatly to Buhari's victory in the south east and as an ever loyal progressive, he needs the support of every Nigerian, he deserves to be greatly rewarded.

Onu has been steadfast in opposition party since 1998.
He contested gubernatorial seat against Sam Egwu ; having being in opposition party without much financial muscle, he was defeated by PDP. He became the presidential flag bearer under APP, then again the agenda to install someone from SW has to prevail, so he was schemed into false alliance with AD (olu Falaye). The rest of the story u know.....

He remained with APP even when small children were joining The most powerful and largest party (PDP).
He stool with his conscience principle.
He never cause commotion in his state (Ebonyi)

Impressive political resume, but what of his political value? How much political weight does he command in Igbo land? How many votes did he gather from Igbo land during all these contests, and how many followers does he command?

In the last election how many votes did he bring to the APC both in the presidential and governorship elections. If he is given a prominent post in the incoming APC government, would be able to bring in Igbo support for APC? These are the considerations for distibution of political offices in Nigerian democracy.
