OH yes I called God because I felt the pain, I cried watching that video, I remembered the pains I went through during labour and I wept for motherless babies who don't have their real mothers to watch out for them, I cried for babies and children who are molested,abused and maltreated.

And thank God we are not God but humans and for giving us the grace some of us have. May God forgive our sins.

I repeat any one would over react YOU inclusive. Thank God the mother or father of that baby was not there at that moment. Am sure when the parent saw the video the woman must have been arrested or hidden somewhere.

Seems happened in Bulgaria and aside from physically hitting the baby,strangling, she also used a bottle.
Baby had a number of injuries to the head required surgery and is currently stable showing vital signs. Nurse has been arrested.

Emiliya Kovacheva is now under arrest and charged with attempted murder for inflicting grievous physical harm to a 4-day-old baby girl named “Nikol”.

Kovacheva was caught on surveillance video of the hospital hitting the neonate with her hands and baby’s glass feeding bottle. The video also showed Kovacheva clutching the neck and shaking the baby.

The incident has left Kovacheva’s colleagues in shock saying the midwife had previously had an impeccable professional record.

“We did not tell each other anything, everyone cried and could not believe this was the person they had worked with,” said Dr. Valeri Netsov, head of the obstetrics and gynaecology ward at Sofiamed.

“She was one of our best midwives; no complaints were filed against it. When she worked the night shift, we knew everything would be done the right way – she is not prone to conflicts, has a sense of humour and is a nice woman,” said Dr. Netsov in a press conference.

It was rumored that the Kovacheva’s exhausting 24-hour shift caused her sudden burst of outrage but this was falsified by Dr. Nestov saying: “Working 24-hour shifts is not a practice at [our] hospital; Emiliya Kovacheva worked one shift after another as she had wished so.”

On the other hand, Dr. Yordan Pelev, manager of the Sofiamed hospital said they will initiate a new countermeasure to prevent this incidence from occurring.

“We will introduce a new kind of video surveillance due to which mothers will be able to watch round-the-clock what happens to their babies through a personal code while they are on the territory of the medical establishment,” he said.

Deputy Health Minister Boyko Penkov briefed reporters on Friday saying the newborn was moved to another hospital and is already in a more stable condition.

This is totally unbelievable. She props a newborn baby’s bottle in its mouth because she is to damn lazy to feed it properly. She doesn’t bother to burp her and wonders why she is crying.

Over the last few days there has been viral footage capturing the horrific assault of a newborn baby at a hospital in Bulgaria. Having spent the morning searching for more information, I have translated several Bulgarian and Spanish news articles. The information is as accurate as possible and if any information is later shown to be incorrect it will be amended.

The alleged assault of this precious newborn baby girl, Nicole, just 4 days old at the time, is alleged to have taken place at the 'Sofiamed' Hospital at around 2am on Saturday 18th April. The baby girl had been born healthy with no complications.

The footage appears to show the accused, 40yr old Emilia Kovacheva, brutally beat the infant with fists and a glass feeding bottle. It is believed she tried to choke the infant by putting pressure on her neck. It's believed Kovacheva had worked two 12 hour shifts consecutively, and was tired and nervous. It's not known why the infant was attacked but possibly because she cried more than the others. Allegedly Kovacheva tried to conceal her actions the following morning by not wanting to give the newborn to her mother for feeding.

Baby Nicole was taken to 'Tokuda' Hospital around 7.30pm Saturday with severe head trauma - cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral edema. Doctors spent 48 hours with the infant and she now has stable vital signs. It's believed she is no longer on assisted ventilation.

Emilia Kovacheva has been fired. She was arrested and detained. It's alleged she has previously shown signs of mental instability, but dozens of mothers believe this not to be true, describing her as a professional and good woman.

The head of the maternity ward in 'Sofiamed', Dr. Valerie Netzov, determined what happened as "a human tragedy that could have happened to anyone, anywhere". A gynecologist said "If Emilia Kovacheva was not working here, it would have happened in another hospital to others". Kovacheva was described as 'one of their best midwives, and never any complaints. When she is on duty at night, you know everything will be done properly. She is a non-confrontational person, has a sense of humor and is a pleasant woman'.

The gynecologist attacked the media because nobody thought about the parents of the baby. The tragedy spread across all channels without being aware of the huge stress for relatives and friends of those involved.

The manager of 'Sofiamed' announced it will introduce a new type of video in which mothers will be given a personal code, so they can watch what is happening to their baby 24hrs a day while in hospital. 'Sofiamed' is one of only a few hospitals that has video surveillance, and cameras are only used for investigative purposes.

At the end of last week the footage was leaked to some websites and TV. The Electronic Media Council will discuss at a meeting next week whether media have broken the law.

Judges have made the decision to keep Emilia Kovacheva in custody on the grounds she may re-offend. And it was NOT agreed that the charge of attempted murder be reclassified as Intentionally Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm.

According to Judge Nicholas Dzhurkovski, investigation so far has provided sufficient evidence that the attack on the newborn was committed with direct intent to murder.

He added Emilia Kovacheva has a high degree of public danger. The decision is final and not subject to appeal.

Yesterday 'Tokuda' Hospital said baby Nicole is recovering well, her condition is stable and there will be no permanent damage!
