A friend advised I use an excavator to dig my ponds.
Has anyone done that before?

What are the Advt and disadvantages.

@mercylicious, its a mechanized way of Digging. Its expensive cos you pay daily, over here its over 100,000 daily. Tnx

A friend paid 30k for a pond of 30* 40 or thereabt and he dug 10 ponds making it 300k. This excludes cost of fueling the bike he bought for their use for easy transportation and occasional tips and feeding .
If ponds dug with hand and the one done with excavator are of the same quality, one can get the excavator dig the ten ponds in a day or 2days max. It saves the stress of monitoring human labour and cheaper for a big farm. This is my thinking though.

I recal a friend using manual labour to dig a borehole, after that, he swore he can never use manual labour for that.

Please I need more inputs.

We have to first ascertain if the ponds dug by d two ways are of the same quality.
If yes, just ask for where they hire machineries like bulldozer in ur area. I guess they will have excavator there . I also believe bulldozer can do d job.

I guess bagging and netting were included in the 70k u were charged. I think d 30k pond was 40 by 25. I've forgotten though, BT I recal I posted the exact size on this thread DT time.

depends on the make..But it should not be more than 30k naira.

I have noticed DT durante is a better feed than multi but more expensive. Durante gets d water dirty more quickly than multi. Durante 2mm feed is same size as multi 3mm. Durante 4mm feed is double d size of multi 3mm.

I was surprised when someone on this forum said his post fingerlings picks 3mm of vita. But now I know why . The size of durante is bigger than same same of multi.

@noble, Multifeed is foreign feed, while vital & CHI r locally made. Multifeed is of a high quality, gives amazing result compared to Vital & CHI. Tnx

U will get ur desired results with either multifeed or vital feed if u av stocked good fingerlings; ur fingerlings and farm mgt matter alot. Both feeds are very good. Cost wise, vital feed is cheaper then multifeed. I will even recommend you use Top Feed, its cheaper than multifeed or vital feed and at d same time also a good feed.

WHAT of zeigler feeds too bro robonski recommend zeigler too been produced from isreal.

We don't administer drugs just like that except we know the symptoms ..

Left to me, I will advice you use multi feed for a start, then later on change to any of the other two...
