It is very painful to watch the christian's attribute towards God. They childishly shape their god the way they like by attributing illogical qualities to his omniscience. Would you not see around you how everything natural is logically organized. If the creator has the illogical qualities you people attributed to him, then you would wakeup one day and found the sun rising from the west, or one would sow corn and wakeup to see rice growing. Fools, the will of God is not interwoven in your ridiculous religious belive, it is adamantly interwoven in the laws of creation. The mission of christ was to teach mankind to live according to the will of God i.e to observe and obey the laws of creation. It all contains in the lords prayer. God is perfect and perfection is immutability. Changes are sure sign of imperfection. Only mankind change in their journey towards maturity. But God remains the same till eternity. Thus wrench yourselves out of these blasphemious claims! |

Yes u can. Cos God has a permissible will, nd his persuasive will. Now God's persuasive will r tins he won't change 4 u pray hard as u may... Howeva Godz permisable will can b changed if u pray 4 such... Eg God wants u to marry mr X(his permisable will) nd u kip prayn nd pleadn dat u want Mr D, God will bless ur union wit Mr D, bt u won't enjoy ur marriage wit Mr D as u would v wit Mr X cos ur will can neva b beta dan God's own #mytwocents |

God's will can b changed. For instance if God says u will b rich or bcome great in life, den u fold ur arms and u refuse to take necessary step waiting for manna to still from heaven u are on ur own.for example Eli children waywardness made God to change His original plan for them. U can also change frm bad to good by praying and b persistent. D effectual fervent prayer of d righteous availeth much. E.g Jabez |

yes you can, if you've risen to the Amos 3:7 level of relationship with God! Moses got to that level and made God repent of his will (Exodus 32:11-14)! God however is not man that he should lie or the son of man that he should repent meaning that God is not fickle and in him is no shadow of turning but those who have risen to the level of holiness characterised in Psalm 24:3-5 and have entered into the holy of holies and have bonded with the Father at a relational level analogous to the husband-wife relational level...can make God do and undo events as he/she pleases...because at that level, the will of the man has becomes one with the will of the Father... |

Orijin101:It is absolutely possible to change the will of God through prayer. I don't want to write so much on this so I would just give you a very simple example from the bible. Now the bible tells us of a particular king who was really sick and as a matter of fact God had said he would die. This King changed the will of God though a heartfelt prayer. He reminded God of all the great things he had done in his name and God immediately changed his mind and added 15 more years to his life. Scriptural Reference Isaiah 38 1. In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. 2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, 3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4 Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. 6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city. |

searay:There are no maybes. God knows everything. He knows the outcome/ending of the choices we make in life. He gives. And watches what we choose to do with what He has freely given. Hezekiah could have chosen to use his additional 15 years to truly serve God and show how grateful he was for the gift of life. But rather he chose to become proud and arrogant. It's all about our choices. |

There is a " good, acceptable and perfect" will of God. If God decides something for you, and you think it is not good enough, you can pray, and if He wills it can be changed but it makes that situation a permissive will of God and not His Perfect will Looking at Hezekiah, at the time he was supposed to die, he had no children... After he was restored and given 15 years more, he had children who became the downfall of his kingdom in the future. Also, as he was celebrating his healing he entertained guests from Babylon who were shown all the treasures of the land and later came to loot all. So when we are sure God is telling us something, after having prayed, let us always be humble enough to say; " Nevertheless, not my will, but let Thy will be done Oh Lord". |

the truth is that their is will of God.it is always the best and good will because the bible says that God said that the thoughts he has for us was of good and not evil.King Hezekiah pray for more days believing he is smart by pleading.God accept as he will accept from u And me.but he knew the evil that is coming if king Hezekiah spend 15 more year.the extension of Hezekiah life led to slavery and looting of Hebrews by king Nebuchadnezzar. read the story well.if he had left at Gods time Hebrew wouldn't have been slave.if Jesus Christ change is will would u like him.u like him because he gave is life as sacrifice.BELOVED LET D WILL OF GOD COME TO PAST.IT IS NOT FOR U ONLY BUT FOR MANY SOULS THRU U |

Orijin101:The Will of the Almighty is unchangeable, immutable, adamantine and inexorable. These may sound like big words but the long and short of it is: The Will of the Almighty cannot be changed because it has been woven into this Creation since it came into existence and will remain the same for as long as Creation remains in existence. The Will of the Almighty expresses itself on earth in the form of fundamental Laws which we tend to take for granted. Theses Laws of Creation include Law of Sowing and Reaping, Law of Homogeneity, Law of Motion, Law of Spiritual Gravity, Law of Giving and Receiving, etc. These Laws never change and they are the same Laws that operate in the Spiritual realm as well as in the Divine Realm....hence they are referred to as Divine Laws. No amount of prayer, petitioning or pleading can prevent any of these laws from taking effect! What most people describe as the Will of the Creator in their lives are nothing but the effects or consequences of their own past actions. These past actions need not have taken place in this earth-life but the seeds could have been sown in a previous earth-life. Nevertheless, the sower must of necessity taste of the fruits of his sowing through experiencing. Many a time, these consequences can be diminished in strength or even symbolically redeemed by employing the power of good volition. This entails sowing fresh good seeds which can blossom with such strength as to mitigate or outweigh the returning consequences of some past evil deed. This is the path of reformation which can lead to the forgiveness of one's sins. Also, a fervent prayer, sent upwards in purity and humility, can help a petition reach that level where it can make contact with the Power which can enable the request to be granted or realised. It is noteworthy that these 'consequences' which may be mitigated or averted from taking full effect through prayer or good volition were not necessarily the "Will of the Creator" for the individual in the first place but merely the fruits of their own sowing...hence the results of the 'Will of Man'. This possibility to mitigate the returning effect of our past action is only an expression of the Love of the Almighty but does not change the Creator's Original Will for Peace, Love and Orderly Development of His Creation and its inhabitants. This Will of the Almighty Creator, however, has been woven into Creation from the beginning of time and continues to run its course in the lives of men with adamantine precision and regularity. This Will is unchanging and unchangeable....it is also no respecter of persons, their wishes or desires! |

exxell:well said exxell, sometimes i want to ask ...How strong is God's will .......somewhere in the bible it says "the will of God is not for man to perish"...but then what about those of us tagged as going to hell ...that is not in correlation with God"s will o, Then is it that God doesn't know his own will or is it just that God"s so called "will" is very weak , loose & flexible but then if God's will is Law & Rigid, it then means some of us were already doomed for HELL or Blessed with HEAVEN even before we were conceived, since God new all about us in our mother's wombs,.. .......Look here people i just don't get it, it makes no sense ![]() Even Jesus was not too sure about the will of God during his Crucifixion he said "father if this is your will?............?...he probably wasn't sure too.To many things in the Bible & christianity dont make sense , I was brought up a Christian, but I have started asking questions after education , i reason like a non illiterate. Please people should stop switching off their thinking & reasoning faculty when they practice religion now thats so sad |

wendixx:So now there is permissive will & then perfect will....hmnnnn i see. now there are different forces/may will (if u like) , that rule the Universe or direct the flow of life as we know ; 1. Natural law of order (nature), e.g gravity, dropped glass shattering , buried seed growing from the ground, ice melting etc. 2. Destiny 3. External forces effect. IMO. Now wendixx, which of these 3 come under God's perfect will & permissive will? ...for knowledge sake |

| Re: Is It Possible To Change God's Will Through Prayer ? by wendixx(f): 8:29am On May 11, 2015 |
dabosuker:dabosuker, if you read Rom 12:2, you'll know where I'm coming from. Nature itself is a fully featured program written by God that is running... When the right conditions are met, gravity must take place, rain must fall etc.. This is the Program of God."As long ad the earth remains, seed time and harvest shall not cease..." etc. Destiny on the other hand still depends on you as a person for it to be fulfilled. God has given us free-will, and if he destined us to be something, if we align to His will, we'll achieve it. But if we choose to be reprobate, God can never be disadvantaged. He still has other servants in His vineyard who will still fulfill that purpose. I don't claim to be all knowing.. I pray he Holy spirit explains it to you. (I express myself better in words than in text sorry.) |

kennyten10:Prayer is the way man commune with God. The essence of prayer isn't just for petitions though it is a part of it. When you make petitions the huge chunk of your prayer then you r not praying right. To answer your question now its necessary to channel all your supplications and needs to God in prayer because no one knows the will of God concerning what you r asking for and Christ tells us to ask anything of our father in heaven. What makes a better xtian us that we still end our prayers with Lord let your will be done....if I pray for something and it doesn't come to be then its clear God doesn't want that for me and I thankfully move on with my life but some others start feeling frustrated and even rebel against God. Prayer can Neva be useless whether we get d right answers or not |

Kay17:It does seem very general but by all means do so if you wish. One day I should take the time to find out how to open threads myself! |
| Re: Is It Possible To Change God's Will Through Prayer ? by KoloOyinbo(m): 12:18pm On May 11, 2015 |
Kay17:We all want to avoid a situation where a thread is set up merely to criticise those contributing so is this thread based on the assumption that God exists and posters speculate on the nature of God? If it is just another 'God exists versus God does not exist' please make sure this is clear as I do want to avoid the irrelevant and incorrect arguments put forward by both sides. As God cannot be proven and equally cannot be disproven both sides in that debate are flawed. The perceived NATURE of God is interesting but cannot see why an Atheist (or even Agnostic) would participate in such a thread? I suspect any Atheist participating in such a thread may only be doing so in an attempt to be smug and superior to the believers not realising the inconsistency of their position. Now YOU seem not be a believer and in fact are most derogatory about believers so I am equally unsure why you are interested in such a thread. However I will not prejudge anything until I see the thread itself. |
