What are you saying? Was he not exercising his freedom of speech as you always said?
Though most of the content of AIT is true about Buhari but there are some certain lies that were big blows to the image of Buhari. When we talked about that, you told us to go to court. So why kicking him out? He should be reported.
You can't compare both event...

The AIT documentary talked about Buhari and has no relationship with National Security. In this case Buhari can go to court if aggrieved.

The Aso rock Journalist's question has nothing to do with Jonathan but it bothers on National Security. Hence, the government sent him out to avoid further reckless question.

Spot the difference...

You guys are pathetic....how can you compare what GMB did and this event? A reporter asked question that bothers on gossip and national security, he was asked out. Though not the most appropriate way to respond to such a ridiculous act.
My take is: if GMB handlers had done exactly same thing if he was already sworn in as president, you would have compiled stories to disparage him. No be you again? Bros, abeg forget matter. Come May 29th, a new sheriff shall be sworn in. Goodbye to the era of ineptitude.

Apologies 4 calling you pathetic baby...

But I don't see why you guys are trying to justify Buhari's decree 2 with this event

Thank you OP for this thread

The Jonathan government is once again denying journalists their right to free speech. This is the same government that unlawfully detained 2 press men from Aljazeera during the elections

Jonathan is a disgrace and Nigerians cannot wait till the 29th of May to see the end of this mistake of a president.

Barcanista, when are you going to caution Jonathan for this pathetic and undemocratic act??

Then why not politely sending him out?
Sorry the security personnel only did what they are trained to do, that are not the regular police. The only they understand is force.

Oga I don't see why youu guys are jumping helter skelter. The two Aljazira Journalists trespassed a territory without clearance from the FG and the Military considering that we are facing terrorist attack. Their detention wwas/is justified in line with international practice.

That of the other dude also bothers on National security. Both cases had nothing to do with Jonathan as a Person or his Presidency

I don't really think that people understand how security matters are handled ..people misconstrue security breaches with violation of press freedom.

At least we all believe that media freedom is crucial for the development and strengthening of our democracy. This is a good sign.
However the two Aljazeera journalist you cited broke the law when they entered a military operation zone without military clearance. You can't enter a military zone without clearance. This is standard practice worldwide.

Crap!

Excuses upon excuses...

Like two journalists from a reputable media station would be mistaken for terrorists? undecided undecided

Tell us how the journalist evicted today is a security threat? Because he asked uncomfortable questions? Your hypocrisy is becoming clearer everyday

If these events happened in the APC camp, you would have opened 2 threads condemning it.

Where is the so called ' Patriotism over Party Politics' Noise?

Bros, answer these 2 simple questions ..

1. Why was the journalist evicted today?

2. Why was AIT barred from covering Buhari's events?

..Let's not drag back to the aljazeera journalists.

So the punishment for that is subjecting them to an unlawful house arrest for days ? Is that your definition of 'media freedom'? Especially during an election period?

Let us talk about the situation that happened today? Why was the journalist evicted from the state house because he asked an uncomfortable but important question?

When is Barcanista going to open a thread to condemn this unlawful behavior by Jonathan's govt?

We are not in a military dispensation, we are not operating under decree 2. Why did this happen?
Re: Barcanista Come And Defend Gej by mrmetoo1: 10:50pm On May 11, 2015
He asked if they were using mercenaries to fight Boko Haram. How's that a breach of national security please?? He didn't expose a tactic or an intelligence report, all he asked the Chadian president was if he was aware of the use of mercenaries. Are you guys kidding?? Hypocrites! I'm sure you guys didn't expect Jonathan to do what you guys wanted to crucify Buhari over before leaving office.
Re: Barcanista Come And Defend Gej by Nobody: 10:51pm On May 11, 2015
Bros, what do you mean the two journalists are from reputable outfit? Terrorists can take any shape andform. It I'd not perculiar to any profession. Precaution is better than fire-damage.

As for the other journalist, the question he asked "whether the jmntf is working alongside hired agents" is pathetic and a potential threat because the government has never said that they hired any agent anywhere. The issue is a serious one as it relates to terrorism war. It is also calpable of creating unnecessary panic and causing chaos. Though it wasn't the best way to respond!

Crap - Barcanista!

Those journalists from Aljazeera are well known and it wasnt their first time reporting in/from Nigeria. The worst that the Jonathanian government would have done was to deport them immediately rather than detaining them unlawfully for a week.

Your second point is even more pathetic! Are trying to say that journalists can no longer ask questions from the Nigerian government anymore? The fact is that there are reports globally that Jonathan in his desperation hired mercenaries to fight BH. Is it a crime for a journalist to ask for clarifications to establish the facts?

Why did the Jonathan administration take offense to that question? Why did they abuse the rights of that journalist to perform his duties?

When are you going to open a thread to condemn this unlawful behavior?

Deport them? No way... You arrest them anÐ investigate them to ascertain whether or not they are security threats. That is what the Military did. It doesn't matter whether they work with aljazira or cnn. What matters is national security.

Was the decision applauded or condemned by the international community before you begin to sound like your clueless stealing is not corruption paymaster.

To the APC guys, pls don't bother your head with the craps spewed.we have given their paymaster a resounding and historic beaten they can never recover from, they are only whining that they 'miscalculated' .
Pls they are simply looking for attention because according to their chairman muazu, they are already politically dead and just waiting to be buried.

The reason why I wanted Barcanista is because he is the only person that created a thread about Buhari. Assuming you had created your own, I would have included your name. Simple
