People Who Criticise Prosperity Rarely Become Rich. by kay1one2(op): 4:32pm On May 13, 2015
Philippians 4:19 NIV

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

It is God's will that the Church live in abundance of all the necessities of life. It is also His will that the Church live in absolute holiness by faith in His Son Jesus. Money should not become the god or only aim of the Church but a tool for evangelism.
Instead of criticising prosperity, it is better to cue into it through a covenant relationship with God nutured by tithing, giving and offerings. And God will surely reward the giver with "good measure, pressed down, shaken together and flowing over!"

I think the issue should be being able to balance between holiness and prosperity. Both of them should not be criticised.

Did you ever take economics in school?
I have actually forgotten whether economics was part of Jamb exams. I guess not.
Otherwise, this jamb champion would not be waxing full ret.tar.d about wealth and prosperity.

For the love of money is the root of all evil. So many Christians ignore this or explain it away.

I'm atheist but I do not pursue prosperity. Money doesn't interest me; having a satisfying life does.

Last I checked, economic activities, the efficient allocation of resources, human, natural and capital, were the proven paths to prosperity.
This is true for nations, as well as for individuals.
We also learn from the study of economics that rich nations produce prosperity for the individual, not the other way round.

It is not gods in the sky or in earth that make Nations and individuals prosperous.

Keep religious bullshytes where they rightly belong: in Sunday schools.

Well, I am glad that you do agree that there are places for religious bullshytes.
But when did NL religious section become a sunday school ?

I remind you guys that the atheists here on this forum carry big sticks, solely for the purpose of shaming religious bullshytes that are deemed incongruous to reason and common sense.
sad

The riches in Jesus are to come after death. That's the whole point of following him in the first place. It's not like there's a chance of living forever. Quit pretending like the riches extend here in real life when our bodies are essentially ticking down to the meeting with the worms.

That was not a reference to earthly riches. It wouldn't make sense to amass wealth and die anyway unless that was the only available choice. That's why people do it. If people were certain of that heaven bull $, they wouldn't need to amass wealth. There's no point to it.

First the definition of wealth has to do with having more than enough to cater for one's needs. Jesus did. Saints shouldn't be out on the streets begging. Prosperity is a redemption right in Christ saints should partake of!

Hard work, persistence. Ethics. He also never told you he was anti-Christ. These virtues are also advocated in the Bible. Prosperity and long life (eternal life) are things we strife for in life. Both can be found simultaneously in Christ!

This life is temporary. Beggars and billionaires alike will all feed the worms with their decomposed bodies. The other life, they say, lasts forever. Why do you care about your condition HERE on earth? It doesn't make sense. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you communicate with Jesus, even if you're out begging in the streets, you shouldn't care. Who are you trying to impress by NOT begging? The hellbound people with their fancy toys?

Jesus himself placed a scale of difficulty on the probability of rich people joining him. It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, he said.

Did Jesus tell you to be rich like your prosperity pastors?

Life is an opportunity to create a blissful eternity. God supplies all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. Not begging but God.

You don't know how money works otherwise you wouldn't have typed that unlettered response. Just so you know, money ceases to be money if poor people didn't exist. This means that for your God to reward you with money, he must keep that money away from the poor.

The way to a blissful eternity doesn't have anything to do with wealth. There was a widow in the bible who gave her last penny while engulfed in poverty. The bible Jesus said that she was creating her own blissful eternity. He didn't say that she would cease to be poor.
