Members of the extremist group, Boko Haram, have launched a fresh offensive on Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, reports say.
The militants are pushing to enter the town, sources said.

Residents who were obviously caught unawares are said to be scrambling home to safety.

The Hausa service of the BBC reports that troops from the Nigerian army are presently engaging the attackers.

The reports say the attackers came through an area called “Cashew Plantain” which is behind Gina Barracks, the headquarters of the 7th Division of Nigerian army.

This was what i wrote few weeks ago when the Nigerian army claimed to have pushed the Haramites to the fringes of Sambisa forest ........

'The Boko Haram insurgency is more dire thane we imagine. This has got nothing to do with GMB or GEJ anymore.
Although the Nigerian army with the help of the Tchadian armed forces dismantled a large part of Boko Harams caliphate, their terror network still remains very strong and intact.

Buhari might not be able to put an end to the Boko Insurgency. We need foreign military assistance(combat forces).

Boko Haram members are all over west africa, they are all over the 36 states of Nigeria. Its going to be a long night'

Shebi i saw an airforce pilot making movie about BH fleeing in sambisa forest instead of attacking the terrorists?

Now they have allowed BH to flee with their weapons intact and re-organized themselves to start their attacks again. Nigeria armed forces lack discipline and commitment to eradicating terrorism.
