Good riddance. The Niger Delta militants do not represent the interests of the Niger Delta or the Niger Delta people at large. They are a bunch of greedy pot bellied miscreants elevated to 'freedom fighters' by the outgoing government.

I hope he has equipped his navy to deal with the inevitable blacklash.
The nigerian navy as it is right now stands no chance against militants.
Buhari is a former general , so i hope he is not that stupidd to confront the creek boys without overwhelming naval power.

All y'all do is make noise, threaten and in the end, nothing comes out except bombing pipelines which will in turn spill and destroy your waters and land till you come asking for compensation.

What did Tompolo do when Yardua ordered the Army to invade and burn down Gbaramutu ?

Nothing except coming to Abuja and accept Amnesty !

This is a premature move that will definitely bite.
Such policies are executed gradually.
The Niger Delta is enjoying fragile peace.
We tend to forget too soon
Remember OBJ was also a general and he could do nothing.

Its obvious that hatred has blocked your sense of judgement,
If you think that Buhari will be intimidated by these ex-millitants, then you need to have a rethink ,
Buhari is a man that is brave enough to look evil in the face and challenge it, which is far less i can say about this outgoing government.

Let us wait and see how the oil pumping installations of the Niger Delta stand up to the explosive demolitions that will accompany a full scale naval war, as Boko Hari tries to conquer the entire area for his Born-to-Rule collaborators in the distant north of Nigeria.

Hahahhhahhhhahah, the cows and rams wish he can revoke it. whoever wrote this article hs never been to the niger delta and its creek. before. They just sit in that cubicle office and use 20naira bic biro to write rubbish news and publish. See don't undersestimate the people of niger delta. They are very fierce, with will power. If buhari and the cows and rams have 7 heads they should make attempt to stop tompolo. They nigeria should get ready to export onion and water melon and use water to run cars and generators. Buhari call your rams to order , don't take our calmness and our urge for peace as a weakness. We are not the tribe of judas from south west ,this is not 1969 . This is 2015, we have more intellects, professors, highly trained, doctorate degree holders, able militants , rich private indegenes ,more than the south west and north put 2geda. If you dare us now, this time nigeria will be history and there will be a victor and vanquished. I'm proud to b a niger delta man

Militants are freedom fighters that fight for a cause unlike boko ha-rams. Freedom fighters are legitimate people so are entitle to any thing all Nigerians get. The pipe line is in our region (Niger-delta) so we need to protect our assets and environment. Buhari will cancel the contract and give it to the northerns to protect our assets. That will be a bad move. Jonathan did so much for the north than his own home. So we expect buhari to emulate Jonathan and do more.

The only way he can look at the evils face is to increase the number of his cows in Duara to sustain the economy, because this time around the said evils of yesterday are now instituted authorities in the Niger Delta. Think!

I dont think the contract should not be suddenly terminated.rather it should be properly negotiated where by the money being paid equate the job the job it being paid for......even if the APC led govt decide to use survallance tech for the area the ex millitants can act a backup for the tecnology.....there is no point going going fully tech when you abundant labour
what you said makes sense....

You be militant? you dey benefit from the contact? watin tompolo and the rest don use their money do for the niger delta? NOTHING......... Asari carry him own go Benin republic go build school. No infrastructures in their villages and they keep collecting money for doing nothing. Now we dont have light, because some idiots blew the gas pipe lines. are they not suppose to protect those pipelines? Abeg GMB revoke those useless contracts, nothing go happen. we dey your back.

how well was obj his senior in the army able to handle militancy? militancy is not childsplay o! it is guerilla warfare and these guys has amassed so much wealth in the last 4yrs. i am not in support of the status quo but we have to thread carefully. very carefully, when these boys start he would be so distracted that manifestos would go into thin air. i am a deltan and i dont want the gains of the amnesty to disappear via recklessness. He should revoke em but there are things he has to prepare for first and put in place.
