What about the land use act of 1970...

Also why is there no viable federal government project in the south eastern region? ?

Remember that OBJ kicked against the second Niger bridge... he also said that there was an agreement that the southeastern should be underdeveloped due to the war... I thus repeat... and will keep on saying that the best thing that happened to nigeria was the Jonathan's outgoing government. .. he simultaneously carried all regions along... the issue was that some regions were out rightly greedy... while some regions believed that the government was their birthright. .. a time shall come and very soon.. but we the south east will be spectators then...
The land for the project is the equity contribution of Lagos State to the project, and shares were allocated based on the value of land the state gave towards the project.

What stopped Tompolo, Dokubo, GEJ to personally site a project of such magnitude in Bayelsa?

These people are sick in the head. Why would they stop that relocation? Lagos is so congested and overpopulated and needs to be decongested. Again, there's this monopoly of industrialization and development in Nigeria. Everything is in Lagos, why? All the things that bring about development: The notable seaports, airport, industries, firms and establishments of high standard... Why only Lagos?

They might think that GEJ is trying to save something for his people at the eleventh hour, so there's the need to stop him, but honestly, for Nigeria to develop, it's high time we started spreading industrialization to all the parts of the country and not just Lagos. We have to do what we have to do.

I don't know why these people think with their anus, and excrete via their head. The problem with our high placed officials is that they DO NOT think and do things for the greater good of the greatest number. That's how to achieve something good. Misplaced priorities everywhere in this damn country! Rubbish!
My thoughts exactly. This is absolutely spot on.
Seriously, Lagos should be decongested. They just pack everything in Lagos despite the level of overpopulation there. They really need to do something about it and on time too.

I am sorry but GEJ has lived up to the word-CLUELESS.

Hypocrisy at its peak!!!!!!

Before I proceed, I ll like to state here that there is nothing like United Niger-Delta when it comes to things like this or war; Ijaws are on their own with their newly found friends; the Igbos. It ll be suicidal for Ijaws to think that Urhobos, Itshekiris, Edos and Egberis who are more historically attached to Yorubas would be involved in any Ijaw/SE plans except the few miscreants from those places. Niger-Delta is only in existence for two purposes:

1) To save these small Nations within Niger Delta formation from their over-zealous Vampire neighbour who had made attempt to force themselves on Niger-Deltans In the past before they were made to eat humble pies.

2). Federal Allocation.

I laughed each time I see SE/SS in write ups, it should be Ijaws/SE.

It is quite shocking and hypocritical to see the same Niger-deltans youth who have failed to ask Asari Dokubo to relocate their commonwealth from Benin republic to their land asking a Yoruba man to relocate his business to their backyard. What would be his fate when separation finally comes? He did d needy to be frank and honest.

It ll be hypocritical to see any Igbo man here to say a Yoruba man should take his business to Niger-delta when the same people are clamouring for their own sovereignty.

It's even pathetic to see an Igbo man saying that the privately financed business by Yoruba man should have been relocated to Bayelsa State when Innoson business was sited in the East, far away from where the company name ll be well publicised and sold to the public, the materials and of course the port(Export).

If Lagos state is congested, what happen to the rest of Yoruba states? If Lagos state is congested, then other Yoruba states are available to absorb the economic pressure which Ogun state is already doing.

It's a shame that Ijaws are now like Igbos who would cry over another man food when his own brothers are eating his own apportioned food.
Ignorant fella. Ndigbo were/are not empire builders, annexation and assimilation of non Igbo groups is not our forte, no time in history had Ndiigbo attempted to annex or claim foreign lands as a people. That is the forte of Yorubas who even in modern times are still trying to annex and assimilate the Eguns and other minority Lagos tribes.

I hope the next time an Easterner gets the opportunity, Ironsi and GEJ naivete and "cluelessness" will serve as a guideline. GEJ failed his people, he must realize. and accept this truth.

I don't know... Although I see a lot of folks using the line - what did he do for his people?- I don't quite subscribe to that argument.

Mr Jonathan was voted as the president of Nigeria, his people are Nigerians, and his domain encapsulates the entire landmass of Nigeria and her maritime boundary and not a particular section of the country. If he failed "his people", then it is Nigerians he failed, and if he does well to his people, it is still the generality of Nigerians that would enjoy the goodies.

My dad told me something once. He said "power rotation is rotation of corruption", and he is so damn right. Think about it, should all zones receive equal treatment and attention from whoever it is that occupies the center, who would have time or care a hoot agitation for power?? That is why ironically, I sort of say it is rather commendable for a guy in Nigerian polity if he is being vilified by people that "he did nothing for his people. It somewhat shows he's not ethnocentric. smiley

Only problem is when everybody complains he did nothing for them. It simply means all he did, he did for himself and himself only.
/
Good observation.

But he had money to build almajiri schools in the North, but none to deliver common electricity to his town or to build federal roads in the SS. People cry against marginalization because they feel that their interests are not being protected at the center. When a son-of-the-soil holds all the aces and couldn't protect the interests of his constituency to bridge many years of lopsided development, then it becomes height of carelessness and naivety.

So you think, a Yoruba man, will locate his 500million-dollar project outside his region??

He knew his fellow Yoruba brothers will die fighting for him on their Land, but who will do that in another man's Land? Now that Nigeria might divide, let everyman, invest on his own Land.

Go and watch Egun and Awori Saturday/Sundary show programs on TV and see pure Yorubaness in them.

The Egina project must be in Bayelsa, but the Lagos oil project must be in Lagos. Since we are moving separation right now.
superstar1:
Bros did you even know who owns the project?

The project is owned by yoruba couples. What stopped your Dokubo and Tompolo from doing same out of the billions they are collecting monthly?

It is not a FG's project, it is a private project.

Before this time, such fabrications are done in South Korea, Japan and Singapore and shipped down to Naija.

If yoruba couple invest their money on yoruba soil, what is your business?
