Uncle i thought they said elders are wise, why then are you talking like this now? Where is your wisdom? Please if you 've got nothing reasonable to say, just listen to others. So you support the use of millitants instead of our security agencies, no wonder our country is the way it is.
It is only unwise fellows that do not reason outside the box & you just expressed yourself as one.
Why was there clamour for state police?
What did you think escallated kidnap & oil bunkering in the niger delta, you think it was just the millitants?
Where was those security agencies when oil production dropped from 1.9mbd to 700k bd?
What have your security agencies done to ongoing vandalisation & bunkering in Arepo & Ogun state environs, including Ikorodu axis?
Wisdom is broad & not narrowminded like yours.

We are stating the obvious, the reality and they are just talking crap. Shell and co. will just declare force majeur on its contracts and evacuate its personnel via choppers leaving the soldiers to man the platforms and flow stations while fighting an unseen enemy. The entire armed forces numbers not more than 300,000 active combatants. There are 3 million youths with access to those creeks, there are hundreds of flow stations, thousands of miles of pipeline. Where do you want to start.

I laughed each time i saw a Niger Deltans threatening a whole country with war. It used to be a riot military response to militants stupidity in the past; Obasanjo and Yar Aduar administration.

Listen, no matter how rich few individuals are, they wouldn't be able to absorb the economic firepower of federal govt even ordinary state government.

Historically, ask Ojukwu to narrate his ordeal to you cos he had experienced it before with well trained army officersߧ as commandants. The billions of naira in the Accounts of Militants and their Godfathers-Edwin Clark could be rendered useless if Nigeria choose that path before killing millions of them on their own land. No country will question Nigeria about it.

It's be a suicide mission for Niger-Deltans excluding Edo and Ondo state. I only pity the old, women and small children
lol... u re saying excluding Edo and Ondo state, but u want them to benefit from d struggle and blood of niger Deltans from other states?.... I hv dz strong feeling u re a Yoruba man... quote me wrong.

You don't just get it. Even the Asari's and co. pay out a lot of money to keep this peace. NDDC pays, the Ministry of the Niger-Delta pays, the IOC's pay. The drop in crude oil funds is already causing much disquiet there as much as in the government and then you want to take it all away and give their adversaries, the Nigerian State. Hmmm

Don't mind that cowardly keyboard warrior. He has issued so many warnings and ultimatums yet the real players on the ground he relied on (GEJ, et al) continue to let him down by showing they are first self-serving individuals who are entirely about themselves above playing 'strongman' to please some deluded e-warriors.

This is the problem. Jonathan's five years has made many Nigerians to feel that leaders capitulating to the blackmail of every common thugs, as GEJ did, is the norm. We will see who will come out on top here. All that some emotional and ethnocentric Nairalanders know to do is beat their skinny chest and exaggerate the strength of their kinsmen and corner. They are proven wrong daily yet they still shamelessly come here to mouth-off like this Chukwudi44 chap.

Even the militants will quickly know that 'level has changed' if they mess with Buhari. We will see whether they still have the sympathy of their own people, let alone other Nigerians and the world, as was the case in the past when it was thought "their cause is just". GEJ has fed them fat for 5 years, with many becoming billionaires, yet the ordinary people of the ND are totally disenfranchised from this largess shared among the leaders of the region. These guys have outlasted their use for anybody. It is now clear they were only fighting for their own pocket. Post amnesty, what has GEJ, NDDC, billionaire militant warlord et al done for the ND region? What has the billions Tompolo, Boyloaf et al made from the official patronage of GEJ done for the ordinary folks of the ND? We only need to look at how oga pata-pata (GEJ) was completely abandoned by all but Fayose to know that these militants will be on their own if they decide to square up to Buhari.
don't mind dem, is it not this tampolo, boyloaf and d rest that they and der ppl were making noise abt if Gej looses how they wud raise Nigeria down, yet the moment Buhari won d election they started releasing press statement saying they are ready to work with any govt...

You know that I am a Yoruba man cos you know that Yorubas wouldn't celebrate mediocrity in place of excellence.

I excluded Edo and Ondo state even Southern part of Delta state cos you wouldn't expect sons to fight their loving Cousins (Yorubas).

The rest could go to flames................ who cares

I am a deltan. I would say revoke it but he as a general should understand that he has to thread very carefully in matters like this. he wouldnt want to cause problems that would distract his government for the next four years. inshort announcing such before his swearing in, would give the boys heads up and enable them prepare for a face off. You don't do such, it is unwise.

Remember Tompolo has upgraded from a mere warlord to a mentor for many, he enjoys undisputed loyalty. Asari may be nothing but a noisemaker but tompolo is someone that commands d respect of even law abiding citizens, he deliberately abstains from public glare and is the only warlord that has a charity foundation. i don't think Tompolo would want any trouble either, but a man like him thaf is so quiet and looks gentle is hard to predict.

Forget the propaganda ameachi and o'tega are trying to sell, in reality the Niger delta is almost wholly anti APC, so buhari lacks political influence in the region, even worst he is from a tribe that is viewed as an oppressor. So he has to thread carefully but we certainly cannot keep up with this contracts. diplomacy is key here, take away any credibility that would allow militancy to thrive. By reaching out and building some trust via an overwhwlming visible FG Presence in the form of developmental projects. that is the easiest and safest way to disarm the ticking time bomb
Bros, I believe GMB is wise enough. Forget all these news ur seeing about this and that, he (GMB), even if he'll revoke anything, he will surely provide something else of make things juicy for the Niger Deltans that will even mke the citizens stand up for him. I don't think he's so inexperienced/foolish to just jump into cancelling the contract even though we all know that contract was wrong right from the beginning.

2015 Elections: We Are Ready For War - Asari Dokubo
admin, 1 year ago

The leader of the outlawed Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Alhaji Mujaheeden Asari-Dokubo, yesterday reiterated that his kinsmen in the oil-rich belt would foment trouble if President Goodluck Jonathan failed to secure a second term ticket in the 2015 presidential election .

He also advised northerners not to seek election into the presidency on the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the main opposition political group, the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The militants’ leader, however, asked the APC to field a presidential candidate from the South-South to challenge Jonathan in the election. Asari-Dokubo said the people of the Niger Delta would not accept defeat of Jonathan in a free and fair contest, adding that the President must be allowed to rule for eight years.
He said: “If it is war the North wants, we are ready for them because Jonathan must complete the mandatory constitutionally allowable two terms of eight years.
“At home, we have regrouped and we have put our people at alert. In less than one hour, the way we would strike, the world will be shocked.
“If anybody does anything against Jonathan, we will retaliate. What we will do will shock the whole world. We will cripple the economy of the country not only in the creeks, but also on the nation’s territorial waters, no vessel will be allowed to enter Nigeria’s territorial waters.
“Let them not try anything. If they abuse Jonathan, there is no problem, he is their President but anything that will affect the interest of the Ijaw people and the interest of the entire people of the Niger Delta will be resisted at any cost.” Asari-Dokubo also vowed that the defeat of Jonathan in a free and fair election would trigger crisis.
He said: “Jonathan cannot be defeated, they cannot defeat him, they don’t have the right, every part of the country must have equal stake in the presidency of the country.

Have you ever heard that one of the oil pipelines has missed ever since president GEJ appointed the bodies to secure the pipeline route?

A lot of people are lamenting that FG should create more Job opportunities in Nigeria in order to aid they citizens of our country and you are trying to advice the president-Elect to remove the youths from their daily feeding basics just to satisfied His Co-party.

You could have suggested that president-Elect should reduct their salary if it is too competent to bear by one person in order to help other youths.

Beside if Buhari must quit the youths from their Job then Him (Buhari) has no right to recruite another group.
No one is above Nigeria Law.
Beside, Nigeria police force can do all security work in Nigeria.

Trust me, u'll kill some soldiers and probably, blow up pipelines, but trust me, the WHOLE available militants will become dust. I repeat, when a federal govt carry ur matter for head, u no fit win ooo. We're talking of ND militants not ISIS... So hold your leaders accountable first. Lead by example. But you can't can you. And you know it. Everyone just wants to get a piece of the oil. They look at Danjuma and the rest of the oil oligarchs living in affluence and safety earning billions for nothing and they want a piece of that. Catch those first, make an example of them by hanging them in the public square to send a clear message to Tompolo and co. then go after them with a sledge hammer. The real, knowledgable Nigerians will then get your sympathy. My dear, Tompolo and co. are not your problem. They are not the ones who have ruined Nigeria and you know this.
I'm already holding my leaders responsible and I'm not talking about my Governor. As I'm typing this I can see my honourable supervising the construction of street lights. Last week, he took most of the kids for excursion. Everyday on my way to work, I'm always seeing school buses taking children to and fro their schools courtesy my Representative.

These are what have seen within the week. . . . That's the definition of holding your leader accountable.

Don't weep when your tribesmen working in those oil companies are killed. cool
Shallow and myopic as usual; you talk at the level of tribesmen when we are talking of an issue of national security and interest; do you think the consequences of blowing up the pipelines and holding the whole country at ransom would affect only certain tribe or all ppl living in Nigerian?

Well, picture this, lets suppose your militants managed to carry out their threats and Nigerians begin to suffer as a result of their action; do you think that would win you their sympathy or unite them against you and whatever counter measure the government of the day decides to embark to eliminate such blackmail.

As for the killing of my tribesmen, well that won't change anything nor affect their destiny since we believe that every living being is destined to die, neither a second more would be added or subtracted from their time; so to us, death is inevitable and we therefore accept it; only cowards like you die many times before their death.
