But this is exactly what GEJ has been doing.

Many thought Buhari was going to disregard the rule of law and just send people to prison, democracy don't work like that.
So they intend using courts like GEJ, there's no change then.
Ogbeni, there's 'change' this time around. Level don change. Just relax on the sideline and watch as events unfold to your amazement smiley.

Story!!!

If corruption is not purged out of the system and out of the mind of the people completely, the president must still have a say in who becomes the Inec chairman, whether directly or indirectly.
It's a long walk to success in any country. We don't have to maintain status quo because of such fears or do we?

At least let's start it first before condemning it already or tell me what is wrong with same?

They should've removed INEC(federal) from that list cos as far as I'm concerned, INEC is arguably corrupt free else they(APC) wouldn't have emerged winners of the may 28 presidential election.

All they need to do is sustain the trend.

If there is nothing about making salaries of real workers COMPARATIVE to those of political appointees, all the dogo turanchi of we shall & we will is Dead on Arrival - DoA!!!

Any country where minimum wage is equivalent to N18,000 while SINators get N27 million for doing nothing cannot reduce corruption significantly!
Re: See How APC Intend To Fight Corruption by cocoduck: 1:37pm On May 18, 2015
useless jokers how do you solve a problem? By loping off one or two branches and leaving the trunk and the roots intact? nonsense. The zoo must continue to be a zoological republic populated by dogs and baboons until you people deceide to make common sense common. Common sense tells me that the corruption, unemployment etc are rooted into the fact that the country is very divided, just like tree branches it will grow again, Buhari fought corruption in his days as a dictator but it came nack as soon as he was kicked out
if you want to terminate corruption you must embrace true federalism
what happens to the LG funds, what happens to the allocations state governors receive? they are all stashed away
a good example is osun and Lagos, two Apc states, one has not paid salaries since God knows when the other is the most corrupt state in the federation and Edo whos governor goes about sleeping witj and marrying foreign harlots and wenches. Una never start

You missed the point.

What i'm saying is that, the president, not choosing the inec chairman, isn't supposed to be one of the very first approaches to consider to curb corruption in Nigeria.it can always come later when things have been put in place.

The system should, first and fore most, be sanitized completely.the people and the leaders should first of all be made to have a corrupt free mindset.let us record some level of success in the fight against corruption first before changing the status quo.the government shouldn't do things that would bring more questions than answers.of course, the inec might be given enough power to select her chairman, but at the end of the day,the president still influences the selection indirectly.let the people see some positives first, and that can come later.

such rapid change, would be seen as the government, trying to pull wool over the people's eyes.especially,if he goes on to win a subsequent election.

Re: See How APC Intend To Fight Corruption by light004: 2:18pm On May 18, 2015
Nothing new about this approaches. It's not in the planning but implementation and execution.

I will seriously watch for the establishment of the special courts, it's been long coming and a significant step in the fight against corruption if it can be established. One major drawback in the fight against corruption is delay in trail.

We are waiting and watching, hoping for a new dawn.

How possible is this when Obasanjo and Tinubu will suggest, nominate and confirm the nominee for the office of chairman of EFCC and ICPC

Re: See How APC Intend To Fight Corruption by frisky2good(m): 2:29pm On May 18, 2015
You only need to do one thing to end corruption. TOTAL OVERHAUL OF THE JUDICIARY. All this you will do this, you will do that will yield little or no fruit as long as it is this same judges that adjourn cases as if they will be alive to handle the cases if it runs for 100 years. Imagine a judge handing out a 3 year sentence with option of 750k Naira fine to someone that stole 23 Billion Naira. Even I will gladly spend 3 years with hard labour in jail for half of that amount. Afterall na hard labour all of us dey for naija. A few weeks ago, Igbinedion donated millions at a judge's book launch only for the judge to hand a light sentence to his son.

It seems the APC does not know that election (campaign) is over and that it is time to start working.
They keep making more promises and giving themselves many assignments.

By the time Nigerians begin to ask for results, let them not ask for pity.
What is "new" and "more" about this promise Mr.? And which one is pity in this matter?

Someone went and cropped a part of d party manifesto which is in public domain, all of a sudden it becomes "more" and new from whats bn said during d campaigns?

Nigerians shd demand for the fulfilment of promises-a sacred pact between Leadership and Nigerians! Nothing to be emotional about.

Hello Mr Shaqhead, it's been a while.

Fine. It's neither 'more' nor 'new'. But the point is that the APC has raised the expectations of Nigerians. I understand that they needed to do this to actually represent 'change' and as a result, they are under pressure to perform.

We are all watching and waiting to see what they've got to offer.
I can only wish them well as they go about fulfilling their promises. I sincerely hope they perform well.

Monthly sanitation needs to be re-introduced on last saturday of every month. WAI should come into effect. Whatever means adopted to fight corruption and jail victims must be introduced. Sanitize the judiciary already corrupted by jonathan the thief.
Jonathan destroyed NITEL and PHCN in the name of privatization when in the actual since the so called privatization never worked but only exist on pages of newspapers . Buhari needs to cancel the privatizations and return both NITEL and PHCN back to government. The PDP govt of jonathan sold them to themselves and still fund the coys with govt money. That is corruption in magnitude
Jonathan is now asking for forgiveness from nigerians. If he had won the election he would have not asked for that. He is a criminal that must be punished.
When an armed robber is convicted and he pleads for leniency he will still be punished by paying the supreme price.
