Time flies/changes . . . life in the 80s. That said, I can understand anyone who's benefited from the looting jamboree that's turn this country into a shame of the world supporting Dikko/being against Buhari on this. However, what I'm forever going keep trying to wrap my head around is, how can the same set of people who's lives have/are practically been/being destroyed by the same thieving politicians, still takes sides with the same thieving politicians. Most people have been born into hardships/sufferings/things-not-ever-working, that they've no idea what living even a half-decent life is like. And some just have no idea what those stolen monies could do -- no idea whatsoever! Forget all those 'tales by moonlight' any religious cleric and the likes might have told you is the cause of your problems in life -- bad governance is simply accountable for at the least, a minimum 75% of the problems each and every Nigerian is going through (except you are one of the beneficiaries of the looting jamboree that's plagued this country since 1979). Ask what China, France, Ghana and e.t.c. did to it's corrupt politicians . . . they would have gladly subscribed to crating and imprisonment if they had a choice. ![]() |

Billyonaire:Then you know nothing about diplomatic relations. The United State is the worst invader, followed by the British. Both countries combined are the worst thing to happen to world peace. Please study, go and do your research. The US orchestrated a coup that overthrew the government of Iran in the 50s so that they could install their stooge. This US stooge perpetrated a corrupt administration, his wives were bathed with milk water on a daily basis, whilst the people starved. There was a protest and the man ran away to the US. The people requested for him to be extradited so he could face the corrupt allegations against him, the US refused. Trust the people of Iran, the storm the US embassy, broke in and held about 47 US staff hostage. |

Buhari and Idiagbon's 1983 administration would have been one of the best things to happen to Nigeria on a long term note...if they had not been overthrown. These 2 men (Buhari and Idiagbon) believed/believe in discipline and that's what most of us in Nigeria lack. With discipline comes orderliness, with orderliness comes transparency, transparency brings integrity and integrity brings the best out of anyone or anything. God Bless and guide our new leaders, our new president and vice-president, Muhammadu Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo. Long live the federal republic of Nigeria God Bless Nigeria. |

Ezenwammadu:This marked the FIRST and ONLY attempt to make criminals that rob the next generation of their right to a decent living, face prosecution in Nigeria. God bless GMB Even Britain got tired and is now assisting us in jailing the likes of looting Governor James Ibori .... ... While Jonathan is busy pardoning and romancing other looters like Alams! And this is why we booted out Jonathan and brought back GMB! #SaiBaaba, wherever they run to, the long arm of your Government will bring them to Justice, espcially now that every Western nation is onboard. Zero tolerance for looters means "ZERO"! Take Note: From Dezianni Allisson, to NOI, Patience, to Jona himself. Lastpage! BTW: It was not Buhari that made you people to "commercialize" Kidnaping, it is GREED, as usual! ![]() |

SeverusSnape:When I read this story, although I have read and heard of it before, my heart is gladdened. You see, those who cry human rights abuse and take the moral high ground do not understand that when it comes down to the business end of the matter, there are no human rights. The likes of the UK and the US from whom most Africans have been educated on Human Rights and are used by most African's as shining examples of human rights protection, have in the past ordered, sponsored, participated and covered up far more heinous activities than this one and it was justified to them because it served their national interest. The white elephant in the room of democracy is the simple fact that to protect the national interest, you may have to take actions that sometimes violate the same principles by which the national interest is protected. In this day and age of various extreme dangers which plague our nation and assail our peace of mind, even the most ardent supporter of Goodluck Jonathan would be hard pressed to boldly claim that the national interest has been served judiciously, if at all it has been served. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why this little piece of history gladdens my heart that Gen. Buhari is back wearing the Sherriff’s badge in this town. What I see when I read this story, is a man who will go to extreme lengths to deal with even moderate assaults on the national interest. This paints a rather interesting contrast between the incoming and incumbent presidents. Whatever conspiracy theories may abound, this much is clear about President Goodluck Jonathan; he completely lacked the will to impose himself on the political arena for the sake of the national interest. The amount of effort expended in attempting to get himself re-elected would, if channeled early enough and sensibly enough, have been sufficient to mitigate if not eradicate the senseless violence occurring in the North East of Nigeria, in my opinion. Some reports have stated that trillions of Naira where expended on this election campaign which while indirectly good for our economy, could have been used to adequately arm and supply our troops who were stationed on the front lines almost as the metaphorical sheep being led to a very literal slaughter. Like it or not, ugly things have to be done to preserve the beauty of our world. As George Orwell once said, "we sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence upon those who would do us harm". The attempted kidnapping of Umar Dikko proves that Buhari is such a rough man and in such rough times as these, he’s just the man for the job. |

lastpage:You are correct. Buhari indeed owes no one any apologies for what he did. A man who tried to snatch a brazen looter under the very nose of the Brits, to make him face justice in Nigeria, is a strong and fearless leader of unshakable will and conviction. The very sort Nigeria needs. If I remember correctly, the USA did not even keep the government of Pakistan in the information loop when they stormed a compound in the Country to take out Osama Bin Laden. Africa remains backwards partly because we have always betrayed the extremely strong-willed pro-people leaders (like Lumumba, Nkrumah, Sankara et al) who want a better deal for ordinary Africans when others do not want that. For example, Buhari wanted Dikko back to face trial and serve as a deterrent to others yet the UK refused to cooperate with Nigeria. If anything, we should praise Buhari's strong sense of justice that made him decide Dikko must face justice at all cost. Personally, I am extremely glad Buhari won and he has my support 100%. It is only in the world of ideologically confused people that a man who stole the future of many should be allowed to escape justice. Are the corrupt not sentenced to death in China because of the damage corruption does? |
