In the case of Chukwuemeka Ezeuko (Rev. King), the group argued that he is being persecuted in Nigeria because he is an Igboman.

Yet, they want him released despite the fact that a competent court has found him guilty of murder simply because he's an Igbo man that is hated by other Nigerians. I am not and has never been a fan of GEJ'S government but walahi talahi (hope I got that right), if Massob does not withdraw or at best deny this demand of releasing the so called Rev King before May 29th, it (Massob) can as well bid farewells to whatever reputation and support it presently enjoys.

I'm with you on that. There is absolutely no need to bring tribe into the Rev King issue. He was properly convicted of a crime by a court of law.

Anyway, President Jonathan cannot unilaterally pardon convicted felons. He has to exercise the "pardon powers" in conjunction with the Council of State as prescribed in section 175 of the 1999 constitution. Hence, if the Council of State do not agree to a pardon, Rev King and other convicts would have to be executed and serve their prison sentences respectively.
