First, the project is a private one.
Second, why must it be at the twilight of his tenure?
This issue had been on for sometime and even in court;reason why Samsung was not forthcoming giving the contract of Egina to LADOL;the facility can't accomodate the project. LADOL is economical with the truth sir

The project is a private initiative that enticed government and the owners cited it in Lagos, what is the big deal about that. Nigeria Content Development keyed into it to promote local content, GEJ is ill - advised on it, his aides takes joy in perpetually embarrassing GEJ on most of his decisions. I pity him.

This is a very good news. The project should remin in Lagos State. If the arguement for the decongestion of Lagos holds water, then the project should be relocated to either Ogun state or Ondo state both in the SouthWest, both states also have access to the Atlantic Ocean and crude oil deposits

Jonathan should enjoin his Niger Delta kinsmen to build such for them too in Bayelsa state. Mr Ladi Jadesinmi's project SHALL REMAIN IN THE SOUTH WEST
This is what I love about my tribe, we invest at home.. unlike some..who often claim lipsrsealed
This is common sense..

sir if you followed the issue of NLNG relocating from lagos to PH, you will discover that the tax paid by nlng to lasg was part of what made rivers state government then to push that nlng be relocated to rivers state.
moreover the PITA (personal income tax) paid by this IOC is not small oo. and i heard PITA is being paid to LASG.
You pay your Personal Income Tax to where you work, Mobil workers in Akwa Ibom pay to AKSG, Chevron workers in Warri pay to Delta State govt even-though Mobil and Chevron Head-offices are in Lagos

Silly fisherman, when we said GEJ was useless to Nigeria and his own people were we not called Janja_weed followers of a sick General? Now they are crying and gnashing teeth, and blaming his failure on his focus on One Nigeria. What focus? You people won't stop fooling yourselves, Jonathan was utterly clueless, brainless and lacked everything to do with common sense which was why he failed to develop his state after 8 years of governorship and 6 years as president. Jonathan did nothing in the North contrary to the tales sold to you, I can defend this statement anywhere.
fact!!!, that thief did nothing in the north n they re shouting, he did this, did dat, not even stoppimg the bh menace.

How many born troway did he give a meaningful life by providing schools for them

How many farmers did he empower in the north compared to the south

Answer these first then I will bring up more

Jonathan was the best thing that happened to the north in terms of governance yet the north undermined his effort

Have u heard about Edwin Clark and Anthony Aninih again? these r the bad guys of Niger Delta......
people like Edwin Clark, Anini, Asari Dokubo and some high cheifs have the power to hold GEJ/PDP/Federal govt. to ransom; and enforce a mighty project in Niger Delta.
Instead, they were fighting for ownership of oil block and personal benefit as well as blaming illiterate fulani man to their woes.

Under Jonathan no single factory was built in Delta, Rivers, Edo, Bayelsa which i know very well............. he only gave amnesty. Amnesty can not sustain the youths development but employment can make them look responsible and peaceful.
Yar Adua even initiated the Amnesty Programme and not Mr. Dumbo.

If u felt insulted, apologies.

One thing I want you to realise is Regionalism MUST precede Secession, except you want to go through the path of barrels and blood.

ND should make their call for regionalism and resource control. You need to learn how to hide your objective in the midst of advocating for a collective beneficial cause.

Diplomacy and alliance with key regions also matters.

The voice of the likes of Dokubo can never make anybody take ND serious. Until highly cerebral people that can engage in logical and convincing argument take up the battle.

To be candid I feel the pain of ND, but let us tell ourselves the absolute truth, your leaders are not helping the cause. They are the ones sabotaging your efforts. Name one Government you did not have a viable voice? None.

This definitely has shown what might have happened if GEJ was re~elected, his last minutes decisions on appointments and and relocation of such a huge firm to his home state is ridiculous, I once said he might have good intention with some things but wrong advisers. Gos bless Nigeria

Fight if you want! Who will lose? 177 M Nigerians Vs 3 M Bayelsans? But not all of the 3 M are so senseless like you and your cowardly GEJ. If you fight, your people will lose out like the greedy ibos who wanted all Nigeria for themselves alone. If you destroy pipelines and massive oil spills destroy the land, the spill will not even affect lands in the SE, not to talk of crossing the Middle belt or Niger, who will die from the short and long term effects of the poison? Whose land will have all or most fish, animals and humans sick and die? Even ordinary $ 1 B required for clean up of skills of Ogoniland and ND areas, Jonadarft did not provide for 6 years, no you are threatening to spill all Nigeria's oil on yourself by blowing up the pipelines? Funny set of losers, abeg do it!

If Nigeria does have to deal with militancy again, I bet you they will not be coming into the creeks piecemeal like they did the first time and there was fighting for a long time. The government will only set up outposts in the ND for 2 - 4 weeks asking patriotic Nigerians in the ND to leave temporarily and lodge them as close as possible to the ND but outside the region and then fly hundreds of missions daily to destroy every militant in carpet bombing craze until anything that moves or doesn't move is destroyed then, use the oil to rebuild the ND! Who has lost in the process??
Because black-market SA-7s (Russian) or/and Chinese clones of the SA -7 , and Stingers are no longer available abi?
There is well documented history/statistics detailing the performance of the stinger (if you choose to say performance i would say slaughter) of Russian Rotatory aircraft most notably in Afghanistan then consider that this battle will be fought within the creeks where the terrain much more favors the militants and all the remote sensing tools the aircraft(choppers it has to be low flying platforms like choppers as higher flying platforms will be useless in the ND theater) carry will be spooked by the thermal variations naturally present in the mangrove swamp.

This is a post i made earlier:
https://www.nairaland.com/2123552/war-threats-niger-delta-ex-militants/3#30314662

This is a document detailing the black market price for man-pads:
http://fas.org/programs/ssp/asmp/issueareas/manpads/black_market_prices.pdf

I know that the helos cost no less than thirty five million dollars each while a man-pad of thirty five thousand dollars will bring them down .
If for nothing else acquire about fifteen (15) of them at roughly fifty million naira fire two and the rest become what is describe in Military parlance as "AREA DENIAL WEAPONS" albeit in an aviation sense. Google is your friend go read up on the concept.

Forget the events surrounding the relocation bid, Lagos should be decongested.
So you think those people have not thought so too but decided to go on with having it in lagos due to the business side of it. If you had a big investment that is to reach out to a larger community of people where you rather situate it?? Lagos/Bayelsa?? Answer truthfully

Bro, this is not the case of individualism, it is for the general interest of all - doing something for the greater good of the greatest number. If development must be achieved in the whole of Nigeria, then they should decentralize Lagos. Let civilization reach all parts of the country.

Now, you're talking. grin

And for that civilization of all parts of the country to be achieved, some of these industries should be relocated from Lagos to other parts of the country. We've not yet achieved that total civilization in Lagos and it's more than full to capacity already. Have you thought of how crowdy, annoying and uncomfortable Lagos would be let's say 15 - 20 years from now if nothing is done about it? I don't even want to think about it. embarassed

Our Government should do something about Lagos now before it's totally out of control. They should decentralize the business in Lagos. Everything must not be in Lagos!

I seriously want Lagos decongested. Its getting ridiculous.

But people like Asari and other millitants that blow up investments and kidnap workers if they don't pay them make the ND unattractive to any sane investor. As long as these are your representatives, its only millitancy and oil bunkering that will be attracted to the ND region.

Lagos is not going to be decongested anytime soon until most of all our useless governoon start attract investment to their state. I will personally consider APC a failure in the next 4 years if they failed to link lagos economically with neighbouring state.

But do you know it"s anybody's fault if companies refuse to leave Lagos.. Other states should make their place attractive. trust me the reason most coy will think Lagos first is about policies.... when you don't have competent hands they only care about federal allocations they see no reason to develop the state and attract Investors or even protect Investors interests. Why should they move to other placeshuh? IF you had a company where would you situate it first?
