i received a call yesterday evening from an unknown number asking after my wellbeing with so much affection, my work and family. He later introduced himself as Engr. Daniel Uzo working at NNPC Phc.
That moment i realized he was a job scammer cuz i always receive such scam calls about doing contract together and sharing the profit 60/40. He went ahead to remind me where i served ,place of primary assignment, the company name and asked if i was retained after service (their usual routine)
In order to waste his credit i played along and told him i was not retained and i have since been looking for job.
He told me not to worry that God has remembered me today! ,he said NNPC is commencing recruitment next tomorrow but i should go and see one hr. person that he will direct me to, first thing tomorrow, so they can do a special test and interview for me which will exempt me from the general crowd of prospective employee, hence place me at advantage.
I played along by asking for the hr. person info. , at that point he dropped the call knowing fully well he has raised my curiosity. Anyway, i have this neighbor who work with a telecom company, he was there when i received the call, he eagerly gave me his fone to make call since he has excess credit, also the line can call out but cannot be called back. so i called the scammer and he continued with his sermon, to cut the long story short, he gave me the contact of the supposed NNPC hr. head at Kofo Abayomi in victoria island Lagos. He also instructed me to call immediately i dropped this call with him, i thank him profusely (playing along though) and call the HR madam ,she didn’t pick my several calls, I’m sure it was a calculated move to make me more desperate.

Dear Nairalnders pls share the story.. be aware and don’t fall victim for this miscreants, cuz a lot of youths has been duped, raped, killed and used for rituals by this damned souls.

I know its almost 3 years since this happened but can you tell us what you found out from this?

Thank you good people, this same Mr Sunday claimed to be a former Quality Control Analyst posted to NNPC Portharcourt also called my fiancée telling her to call one Madam Stella (08035573817) for job opportunity. He told her that she would help her work it out so she could be qualified (even though she's passed the age that NNPC accepts).

This Mr Sunday gave the address of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) at 5/7 Koffo Abayomi Street Victoria Island, Lagos (I put this address here so Google can cache this text and save innocent people of being trapped)

Immediately I was told I knew it's a SCAM.

Here are the things that made me suspect this call:

1. NNPC (A big industries that people crave to work for)
2. The names given are First name without Surname
3. She was told that the information on the website of NNPC is for general and the one Madam Stella is able to do is not publicised
4. He refused to explicitly explain how they met
5. When ever scammers says, call this person for more information they often do that do develop a non-suspicious relationship with their victim
6. No email contact, no website.

Be aware that these people do a lot of research before calling you (only few ones call at random) - they use facebook, your phone numbers, email address and any information that you allow to litter around: reason why its not good to randomly put your contact information everywhere you go, on every website, not even on Facebook (it can be hidden).

This is a old thread, but this Bastards haven't been caught yet. They just called me claiming to know me and all.

I can't laugh o. I received the exact call this morning about 30 minutes ago with the same description, a former project supervisor who has been posted to PH and that I should call the HR person at this same address number 5/7 Kofo abayomi Department of petroleum resources. Apparently they haven't been caught that's why they are still trying this scanning format

Me I allowed him use his credit o, gave me the HR's contact himself and told me to call her and then go to the office that it's an internal recruitment .

His name is even on true caller cos I tried verifying cos I was confused because I am very sure I don't know him though he had just a bit of information.

I am surprised to see that this post was first created in 2015, but these guys are still in business in 2021. I received a call with same details yesterday night only the numbers are different. What made me take him serious at first is he mentioned a place I once worked and the address, but when he claimed we worked there together before leaving to work in Portharcourt, I knew he was lying. I remember those I worked with clearly. I think these guys are probably getting the details of the people they call first maybe from their CV sent to fake job posts or from LinkedIn. Then they will use the details they have to make them think it is someone that truly know them.

Then told me get writing materials to write the address down, I then told him to continue that I was with me fone he insisted I get writing mater8that the information is bulky. So I got the materials then started writing he then told me the address 5/7 logo abayomi street victoria island Lagos, immediately my airtime finish and the immediately I googled the address, the minute I saw nairaland on my Google search I said "otilo"then I figured it all
He called me back and called a number for to cal wen I get there, he then asked me to repeat the number and then I gave the wrong number he then hung up
