Ive never been anywhere near germany. Everything i know (programming, literature, german, history, pop culture) is self taught.

And therein lies the problem with our nation: its not just that our education system is bad; people are not curious or thirsty for knowledge enough.

We wait for schools to light up our genius. Schools do not produce a Goethe, a Kant, a descartes, a Jobs, a Gates, a Zuckerberg.

Its almost like the famed chicken-or-egg conundrum. Did schools come first to create geniuses, or did smart cavemen create schools?

It bothers me that in nigeria people expect other people to make them smart.

Our youth, like their progenitors, are content to swallow a social pill prescribed by their parents and peers and thus march through life in the blissful banality of conformity. Ours is a society of demographic automatons.

With the internet, and books, the sky is the proverbial limit.
