They should pack to Cameroon? You want these people to leave their ancestral land in which they have lived in for thousands of years to pack to Cameroon? Are you sane? So your "Lord Lugard invention" called Nigeria is the reason why the people should give up the lands they have lived on even before Lord Lugards ancestors were born? The sovereign will of the people superceeds the sovereign will of any government and if the people do not want to be part of a political establishment, they are well within their rights to breakaway. You will have to go to BRITAIN to find Lugard so he get you more lands for you to pack to. Nonsense!
my friend tell yourself the simple truth. If the ss/se eventually secede from Nigeria to form their own nation, who will be your leaders? Won't the greedy ibo folks dominate the minorities and turn them to perpetual slaves? The ibos themselves are not even united. The iboman from anambra feels he's more superior to the ibos in imo state, while the ibos in enugu sees the ebonyi ibos as failures and lazy people.

You people might unite( against your perceived enemies) for now, but whenever your biafra nonsense is achieved, the loathe you have for one another will sprung up and before the world could take any action, another new nation called biafra will turn to south-Sudan.

Well sorry, Nigeria is not ready to accommodate any refugees. The people displaced by boko haram are already enough for us.

I really don't like commenting on this biafra and lower niger nonsense because I know is a fruitless cause and also a waste of time. The people even agitating for self determination among you ibos are unknown. When ayim pius ayim, okorocha, urji, peter odilli, jonathan, wike, akpabio start talking about self determination, then maybe the nigerian state will begin to take you guys serious

Meaning of "Biafra" and location[edit]
Little is known about the literal meaning of the word Biafra. The word Biafra most likely derives from the subgroup Biafar or Biafada[36] of the Tenda ethnic group who reside primarily in Guinea-Bissau.[37] Manuel Álvares (1526–1583), a Portuguese Jesuit educator, in his work Ethiopia Minor and a geographical account of the Province of Sierra Leone,[38] writes about the "Biafar heathen" in chapter 13 of the same book.[39] The word Biafar thus appears to have been a common word in the Portuguese language back in the 16th century.

Historical maps[edit]
Early modern maps of Africa from the 15th–19th centuries, drawn by European cartographers from accounts written by explorers and travellers, reveal some information about Biafra:

The original word used by the European travellers was not Biafra but Biafara,[40][41] Biafar[42] and sometimes also Biafares.[43]
The exact original region of Biafra is not restricted to Eastern Nigeria alone. According to the maps, the European travellers used the word Biafara to describe the entire region east of River Niger going down to the Mount Cameroon region, thus including Cameroon and a large area around Gabon. The word Biafara also appears on maps from the 18th century in the area around Gambia.[44]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biafra

Last note, I am not saying Biafra is an Igbo name, besides, name "Biafra" was given to Ojukwu by an Ijaw man, IPOB is not an Igbo only movement, get it right. Have u been to IPOB meeting anywhere in Nigeria? Do u know all clans in Biafra are fairly represented in IPOB, who do u think make up IPOB in over 90 countries of this world, the IPOB in Portharcourt, Asaba, Uyo and Calabar are all Igbo speaking Biafrans right? Igbo is a language in Biafra, just like we have Efik, Ibibio, and all other languages in Ijaw and Izon region.
The movement for re-secession and freedom is one embraced by all Biafrans despite which clan they are from, u can see that with the leaders of Lower Nigeria Congress and the Directorate of State board in IPOB.

If when time comes and any clan says they don't want to be in, they can go, no one is forcing anyone, but u can't make others who want to be not to be.

Freedom at last!
My friend am sure only ibos share d biafran dream.
I hav neva in my lif heard someone 4rm Akwa ibom or cross river talk about secede as Biafrans.

There you are drinking Panadol for the headache of another man. What is business of yours about how Igbos conduct their affairs in Biafra? If Igbos decide to kill each other in Biafra, how will that affect the sole of your shoes? You're calling a list of Nigerian political criminals as people who you are waiting to speak about Biafra? Laughable. Nigeria is a monumental fraud and whether you like it or not, Igbos will eventually get back that sovereignty which Lord Lugard stole in other to set up the cesspit of deceit called Nigeria and enrich himself. A country is only created by the sovereign will of the people, not by fiat or by some British drunkard called Lugard.

Op Biafra existed from 1967-1970 and as it stands it is an unrecognized state so I don't get your comment that Nigeria has paid some money to the Biafran state. Who receives the money on behalf of Biafra? I'm not conversant with how the proceedings at the UN work but I think any agenda in this direction of yours must get an approval from Abuja.
There is an existing case at Owerri High Court between the Indigenous (IPOB) People Of Biafra and Nigeria.
The IPOB wants the court to ascertain if it is against any law for a people to seek self determination.
Nigeria initially refused to honour court summons and was eventually fined by the trial judge.
The fine was paid to Biafra as damages.

I have always spoken for regional development moreso now than ever. It is better for the SE Governors and leaders and on a wider scale the entire lower Niger to look inwards and start ensuring regional viability on all fronts. We can do it! The geographical spread has not changed and when we were on our own, we survived without the oil. Oil should be seen as an easy way of achieving what we have to rather than a right to laziness!
Now that we have found a semblance of unity on the political front it should not be seen as a loss, rather we should exploit it to our advantage such that the region becomes the envy of all, sought after by many both within and without. Our sons and daughters will comfortably come home because the environment is favourable. Then, the call for a secession will become even more effective because the persons to participate in said referendum will actually be persuaded by the prospects and idea cos right now, the division will be too much. Our leaders need to decide to deal corruption a deadly blow on the State level, focus on their region and jointly develop same while not going to sleep on what is rightfully ours within this poisonous mix called Nigeria. The fact remains that the incessant stealing and poor development is down to greed and nothing else cos people in position want to grab it all and do nothing! I'd rather you carry out a project that should cost 100 Naira for Ten thousand Naira but make sure it is solid while u pocket the rest than to pad figures, steal and still do a shoddy job! That is the height of evil! The best still remains absolute honesty and clean profits!
When we have come to this point or are well on our way to it, then Biafra will rise to fall no more. Even if Biafra delays in becoming a reality, we would have achieved a real home for us.
A sensible post

Sir, What is South South to begin with?
And again, the IPOB in Port Harcourt, who makes them up?

How many working seaports do you have in the South South?
and what about the Oil in Abia, Imo, Anambra and Enugu?

So what about the 90% of oil wells not in the hands of South South people?
Again, who mentioned Edo your state in the scheme of things?

Do you want to debate all these?
Do you care we make it a national debate?
