**About Muammar Gaddafi's United States of Africa?? I would like to say that I usually do not consider it necessary to start a thread on any topic. However, I have recently become very worried about some of the developments occurring in today's world. My current problem is the concept of the United States of Africa. This is not my first time of hearing about Muammar Gaddafi's plan at World domination continent by continent. It is an idea that has been circulating for quite some time now. What disgusted me the most though is the fact that he is yet to be shouted down by the majority of African leaders. That some people are even considering this idea makes me wonder what is wrong with the heads of the majority of people we call Africa's Leaders. First of all is the fact that the first full day of the African Union's 12th summit was dedicated to talk about this. Is this the most pressing issue facing Africa? - In this continent where hunger is rampant, conflict is unending and corruption reigns supreme? Even if these people we call leaders don't care about the continent, we would assume they would at least pretend rather than blatantly display their indifference to the plight of the average African. http://odili.net/news/source/2009/feb/2/11.html The fact that Gaddafi has been using money to push his agenda just goes to show that his intentions are at best sinister. Since when did Gaddafi start using his money or his government's money for the benefit of the common African? Afterall, I don't believe he is the most charitable man on the continent. Second, While thinking about this issue, I realised something. Assuming, the nation's of Africa do unite like the United States of America, I guess we will then need a president just like the United States of America. At this point, I believe I stumbled upon Mr. Gaddafi's or should I say Supreme Commander Gaddafi's plan. I have no doubt that he would be more than happy to "nominate" himself or rather, "appoint" himself as President of the Newly founded United States of Africa even if force is necessary to ascend to this position. Third, While I don't know much about Gaddafi's record, I do know the words of Luke 16:10 - He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. Herein lies my major complaint with this entire con job that some evildoers we call leaders are even willing to debate - That Africa today is unable to manage itself as a group of individual countries should be evidence to us all that uniting the continent under a single government is not a reasonable proposition nor is it a solution of any sorts to the problems that plague us. Likewise, Seeing the Mr. Gaddafi has yet to turn the nation he has run for several decades into anything of substance on the world stage is more evidence that he will not be able to turn Africa or the United States into Africa into anything of substance as well. Lastly, I do strongly believe this is an attempt to con us all. An attempt to give Gaddafi and his cronies complete and unquestionable access to Africa's vast and limitless resources. An attempt for them to gain much more, embezzle much more and dictate much more than they can ever in a country like Libya. They have realized and maybe reached the limits of their current thievery and have thus begun a search for new horizons. Nigeria unfortunately is within this horizon. This is greed I tell you. GREED. And those who support such a move 1. do not understand the extent of this deception, 2. truly believe that really would be a better place if we were all under a joint government 3. Are taking us Africans for fools who they will once again enslave and control for generations to come. I hope for all our sakes that it is reason 1. **I'd just like to thank you for reading my opinion on this topic. I apologise however if it of no interest to you. If it is, please feel free to post what you think. In most things I do, I like to leave allowance for the fact that I may not be seeing the "light". If you truly believe I am not, please feel free to "enlighten". God Bless. |
