Smh, some comments sha. The tribal bigot and religious warlords seems to be having a feast today. The ease with which Nigerians digress from an issue, or a topic published in a News portal to attack each other or themselves speaks little of our much touted education and much about our separationist theories. We cannot achieve anything by being each other’s antagonist. Let us work together, and put our common enemies to shame. The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend. Corruption, dishonesty, insincerity, mediocrity, half-baked erudition and many others are our common foe. The looting of our common patrimony by our political marauders is uncircumscribed to a particular geo-political zone, tribe or religion. When are we ever going to shun tribalistic and religious sentiments when addressing issues of National concern. Recently there was petroleum related products crisis and it affected all states. No section of the country was left out. That's exactly how the bandits and their cohorts in power deal with the masses with outright disdain and contempt. Do they care whether the electorates from their neck of the wood wallow in penury?. No. Do they care whether the schools, roads and hospital are substandard and aren't up to accepted global standard?. No. Some seasoned scholars have opined that a people deserve their leaders. I won't be surprised if Nigeria was a case study in that derivation. The past governments failed us. Can we give the incoming administration a chance? 3 Likes |

And all of a sudden It doesn't matter that someone condemned the attack of the military on Bokoharam It doesn't matter that someone described an attack on Bokoharam as an attack on the north It doesn't matter that someone urged muslims to vote only muslims in a secullar country like Nigeria It doesn't matter that someone committed to the spread of sharia across the country (the feasibility is a diff topic) It doesn't matter that someone instigated the death of over 1000 Nigerians just because he lost an election in 2011 It doesn't matter that someone enacted retroactive laws to deal with a select set of people It doesn't matter anymore that someone ended democracy with the barrel of a gun to assume office Does it really not matter anymore..... Time shall tell. We might have just killed morality and damned our sensibilities to the HOPE of a better Nigeria. And please don't tell me he is my president for the next 4 or 8 Years cos I know that already and that is not the thrust of my thought process. In sane societies, these would matter. Even if he wins such elections, he would be approached with so much consciousness and carefulness but not with all open arms because the words of a man defines a man and people hardly change.
