I belive his story becus it has happened to me too. Mine was between pay bus/stop at Alimosho and cement bus/stop. The same story line but thank God for his mercy. Aside from the diabolical / ritual part of their operations, Naija con artists are basically same with any con artist anywhere in the world- they capitalise on the greed and instant gratification of man and human compassion if I may add. I'm very sure a couple of them would have gone through this thread already and may start researching new tricks. We all just have to be careful.

I know two girls who have been victims. And they swear juju was employed. Even if it is, i believe It's greed and aproko i.e. when you put mouth for the matter, that makes you victim..

Most of them who have fallen victim dont like talking about it. The first one was milked of cash for days.

The second not only handed over her money to them, But also handed over other people's money.

I think there was a day i was in such a taxi. I was going a very short distance and they were the usual number. When they started arguing about the bag in the boot, I didn't even give them a chance to mention dollars before I dropped.

I'm a person who's pretty content with What she has.

After reading these wonderful tale , it reminder of how I use to live in a city called agbor in delta state. When boarding a taxi along the road in Uromi junction in agbor to place like Benin or esan part of Edo state, then be sure of entering a one chance car/taxi. I have boarded many of their car three things has helped me 1st is God,2nd I'm not greed,3rd boldness. The last one I experiences was when I was traveling from warri to yenagoa. So I took little taxi to Ughelli so that I can stop over and eat banger soup with starch from there I will continue my movement. So after my little merriment in Ughelli, immediately I stop a station wagon that was heading to yenagoa not know fully it was a One Chance Vehicle. After about 10mintues drive, what I had next was: Why You No Tell Me say You Carry That Can Big Amount Of Money Inside That Ghana Must Go... Immediately I smile & said to myself I have enter One Chance Again. So many questions begin to pop up and trust me{EdoBoy} like I did not say any single word, so it get to a point and the driver said”Guy You No Dey Talk Inside Dis Our Matta and I responded by saying ”No Bi Yenagoa Me Tell You Say I Dey Go So Wetin Come Be My Own With Una Money Wahala. So immediately the driver match unexpected brake and ask me to drop and I bold ask him why and he shouted at me saying ”If Na Force To Go Yenagoa , so immediately I drop out of the car. I over had when the driver and his crew was saying ” Dmmm Dis Boy Na Bad Market For Us & Make We Go Hustle Another People So I Boost out laugh and the driver and his crew started pouring out all kind of insult on me. That was how God save me.
Lessons :
1. Taking a fare along the road is not 100% secure, please.
2. Greediness is not good....

Had a similar experience some years ago in Benin. The moment one of d guys raised d issue of dollars, houseboy n oga's death..Haнaº°˚˚º‎​=)).. I knew that was it (One Chance). Tho I was very young but wasn't scared because I'v heard a lota stories about how they lure innocent yet greedy passengers into their trap. I was able to escape their plot. They kept raining insults on their heads (not mine) 4 wasting their time n fuel. Lol

Mine happened on the 16th of March 2015. I was going to secretariat from federal housing kubwa under brigde.

I stood for some time, i didnt see any cab going to secretariat. Area 1, berger, wuse etc came announced themselves took their passengers and left.

I golf car stopped in front of me, he didnt announce or say where he was going, he just made a sign with his hands like "where are you going"? I said secretariat. I went closer i said "secretariat" again incase he didnt hear me very well before. He said i should enter. Noticed that he didnt say where he was going like every other cab driver did. He only signalled to me. In my mind i was like why did this man stop right in front of me to ask where i was going?

In the car was the driver, a man in front, and a woman and another man behind. I entered and sat next to the woman. Funny enough i didnt greet any one (unlike me).

We barely went far when the man behind said he was alighting at the next bus stop. He handed over his money to the driver and also told him he has a ghana must go bag in the booth of the car. The driver asked him, so na you get that ghana must go bag wey nearly put me for trouble? That he wasnt go to stop for him bla bla bla. Then the man infront was begging him to drop him that he is taking him far from his bus stop. The waman also told the driver to drop him.

The driver kept going and i now heard him say, "sister make i tell you wetin happen". I said "ehen" in my mind and wetin concern me. I just told him to please drop me that i'm not going again. I opened the moving car before he even stopped and they were all asking me you no go wait make the car stop?

That's how i jumped out and was save. I dropped it was difficult getting another cab had to trek some distance.

But in my mind i really wanted to see the end of the drama!

Wonder what they would have used be for.

Exactly, you got it!!! They just stop in front of you without saying a word, they expect one to mention a place, and then one becomes their prey.

Sometimes last year in the city of akure, while coming from work, i alighted at old garage along adeshida road to buy something when this handsome confused looking fellow came to me and asked for yemkems office.

He then started a useless tale of him having something to sell to yemkem that same day and that he came from ado.
It was at this point that someone else interrupted and called guy a fool for saying he is holding such an expensive material coz the material costs 500,000 and if those garage boys hear about it, the guy will be beaten and the product will be stolen from him.
What's my own with that.

The guy who interrupted our discussion now offered to take d handsome confused looking guy to yemkem's office and started begging me to join him and help the guy so we can escort him to the office together but damn.... After working for 12 hours, i just don't care about anybody again so i excused myself ignoring their plea.

The days later, i heard the story of a guy who went along with them when he was promised 50,000.

He was taken to a secluded spot, beaten mercilessly for looking good and not having money in his pocket and his shirt and shoe confiscated.....lolzzzz. Very lucky me.

Meanwhile, i av been approached for that same scam @ least ten times.

I had similar experience 2009 while I was on my way to lokoja for Esther break with a traveling bag like a student with some cool cash for the break. I got to zuba under the bridge where I met one Gabriel who claimed to be a Tim guy. I walked up to him to ask where I can get lokoja motor on time. He greeted me well n told me he was going to Okene with his boss that if I don't mind I can follow them I obliged. We waited for too long (I wonder why I was not bothered) later a fair man came in bike who claimed to be the boss driver. Both of us climed the bike heading to Gwagwalada still I was not bothered. Just in front of CEO school the tyre of the bike bust while we were on speed on God saved us who's cars were paving way for us. While the driver went to work on the tyre we were waiting so I became impatient that I can't wait anymore. Gabriel call another person who came with a golf car and picked us. We got to giri Junction the driver packed and claimed he went to help his friend who was arrested by road safety over another 30munites. I came down and wanted to get another vehicle then the guy surfaced. Less than 5munites from there, thee tyre of the golf car bust again I said to myself this is not ordinary anymore but I still waited to get the tyre fixed cos we almost in gwas to meet the boss who is taking us to okene. When we got to gwas right where we have the new bridge now we alight. Gabriel left me there to make a pay phone call for another 10munites pls. When he came he tendered apologies. We have to trek to the boss's house but before then he already told me how good and simple the boss is. That the man is very rich and owns many filling stations. At this time I ve already spent 3houra from zuba to Gwagwalada. When we met the boss, there was short introduction of which Gabriel told him I am his brother. While I was chatting with the so called boss Gabriel letf us. The boss asked where I hailed from I can't remember the exact answer but I felt he should know that I came from benue since Gabriel his boys claimed am his brother. I left where I was sitting and came to where I can easily run cos I know am in a wrong place at this time. Then the man started stories of how his former tenants packed out of his house and that his brother came from kano to locate him and so far he has spent up to 30k on the brother and that the man could not locate his brother so he wants his money back. Beholding the man from kano, he is one the oldest man dt one should pitty I was sitting and calculating.. how to run when the old man walked to without a walking stick knowing fully well that he could fall. He told me that he has some goods that can translate into money unknown to the boss and that all he needs is some c.ash to buy chemicals to wash the money to become real cash. At this time I know I was in for a big trouble that only God can save me so I prayed in the spirit. I stood up runaway claiming I was looking for Gabriel when a young girl wanted to ask me if I wanted to join them. I asked her join who she said "419“..I said yes we are one cos one of them had clearly when the my conversation with the girl my escape was possible when the boss walked up to the girl to warn her for spilling business for them. On my way out from the environment I jam Gabriel who I have been looking for he asked I ws going I wanted to engage him in a fight but he ran. I did not know thatvthere people around watching the story where waving at me and telling to go and give testimony that it God that saved me. So u need to be careful my fellow naira landers........

As soon as they started playing theor roles, I knew it was a setup. My mother had experienced the same thing some years ago and told me the story. I kept observing them as they acted their part. When they started asking if I wanted to share it, I told them to drop me. Whic they immediately did, and zoomed off.

People that fall for these scams are people who are greedy and looking for fast, easy cash. Although, make I no lie, I was tempted to go with them JUST IN CASE this was a a true situation. LOL!

After seeing the thread about the one chance taxi driver that was caught, I’m sharing a similar experience I had in 2012.


It was on a Saturday afternoon, I boarded a taxi at AYA Abuja, my intention was to alight at Naomi plaza/park (A mini-zoo) but I wasn’t familiar with the place, my friends only told me it’s about #60 to #70 from AYA.


For those who had similar experience, you’ll rememeber that, it’s usually four people in the cab before you get in. i.e the driver, a passenger beside him, and two other passengers behind. Then the victim becomes the fifth/last passenger.

In my own case, there was a man (in white) sitting next to the driver, a dirty looking youth (the "invisible dollar" owner), and a woman (should be in her late-30’s).

I was so comfortable seeing a woman, especially being an elderly woman, I knew I wasn’t in the midst of men alone. Little did I know that comfort would disappear in few minutes


My mistake was telling the driver I don’t know the park (I don’t really see it as a mistake tho, cos I believe it’s a good thing to ask questions when you’re not clear)


The driver and his crew took advantage of that fact, and just about a minute to get to the park, they started their usual story of dollars.

The dirty guy said he wanted to alight, and told the driver to open the trunk so he could take his “Ghana must go” the driver paused and asked the boy if truly he is the owner of the bags, the boy said yes, and "Boom" the whole arguement started.

(Oh before that day, I only hear of one chance, never heard the full gist from anyone, so I was still enjoying the conversation)

The driver asked how can such a young boy be going about with 100 thousand dollars, ghen ghen, that’s when my eyes opened. I was like 100 thousand dollar in this car? Okay na. Bring it on. (How did the driver get to know the actual amount? I asked myself) Just when I asked myself that question, the woman asked the driver how he got to know the exact amount, then he said, its written on the bags (Kai, they were tryna sell me)


The boy kept begging and crying, defending himself with some fake stories, how he served his boss in kano for 10years and he wasn’t paid well, now the Boss is dead, and he entered one of his rooms, and saw 10 bags filled with dollars, then he carried three of the bags cos he was in a hurry (I was like, if you were not rushing you’d have carried more? Greed!!! And how can you possibly carry 3 bags filled with dollars from kano, and it wasn’t noticed by anyone? All this questions in my mind tho )


The driver still kept saying no, that he has to take him to the police station, all this while I was still mute and my own concern was for him to tell me when we get to the park.

Then the woman started begging saying she has a son like him at home and wouldn’t pray for such a boy to go to jail, the man at the front was still quiet and dint even interfere, he was just looking at his watch. The driver finally said, since the woman has begged, then maybe we should go to a place(his mechanic’s place) to share the money huhh That’s when I knew it was real now, and not an illusion.


I couldn’t pick my calls, I was scared. The driver asked everyone in the car, and they all said they were comfortable with the sharing. They already started discussing who takes the larger part, as the driver kept driving. Then he asked why I haven’t said anything, I was like (oh, I’m not concentrating on their discussion, that I just want to get to the park cos I got people waiting for me) he said okay, that we were almost there (we already passed the place ooo, and I dint know) but that shey I’ll still follow them to have a share ba? I said No. He asked why? I dint reply.


It dawned on me, that we’ve gone too far for such a journey to be #70 Naira like my friends told me. I started crying like a baby inwardly, but I was as bold as a giant outwardly. I told the driver to stop, he asked why, I said I’m not going to the park again, that it’s too far, and I needed to get back home on time. He said he’s not going to stop that he’s suspecting I'm an SSS agent and I might arrest them for knowing their plans about sharing the money. (Even if I’m an SSS agent/police, how can I arrest all of you at same time *in my mind*).

I was calm, dint wanna raise my voice, since I already knew what they were capable of doing. I just kept saying I’m not ready to share any dollar, (I could hear my heart beat, but I was still bold)

All of a sudden the driver stopped, he was about asking me a question ("You mean sey you no wan go share this money"?) as I opened the door, and stepped out. He asked for his money and I gave him 100Naira, (I wasn't bothered about the change), he said No, it’s #250, that we already passed Naomi park since. (Something I already knew)

I didn’t argue, I gave him another #100. Walked away, and the quiet devil at the front started talking and cursing his entire generation (not mine) the woman also joined. The driver called me all sort of names, and said “Na God save you” then zoomed off. (I said before nko, Only God could save me na)

I was on the lonely road, (still afraid, and looking right, left, front and back at same time ) I crossed to the other lane, and a cab stopped, he didn’t even ask what I was doing there, he just said “You don enter their hand abi”? I was surprised.

He offered to help me back to the park and while we were going he was gisting me about those people, saying when you insist on sharing the money with them, they either take you to a quiet place and rob you of everything you’ve got/unclad you, or they use someone for money rituals. He said they usually do the latter. And that they make use of charm/juju. Hmmmm

I got to the Park safe, tho was still in shock, I thanked the driver and alighted. He didn’t even collect a dime. God bless him wherever he is.

Oh, if I was greedy and decided to go with them to see/share their invisible dollars probably I won’t be here sharing this.

A friend told me, even if she feels the dollar is not there, she’d still go with them to be 100% sure. Hmmmm okay

Nairalanders, One chance is real. It's a day I can't forget too easily. I kept wondering what would have happened to me if the driver didn't stop or if their juju had worked.

I hope someone learns from this. Be careful and vigilant. I learnt they've got new strategies they use to get at their victims, but I pray they don't succeed as much as they try to.

. Exactly what happened to me in osogbo sometimes in 2014.
I was going to Ife that morning, I wore a white starched shirt, with a red tie with my well polished shoe, I know I looked like a banker that morning instead of newbie lawyer. So I stood by the road waiting for a car cos I didn't want to take a bus that would cause my cloth to become rumpled. That's how this Golf packed and said Ife? I said yes, He said 200 and I said no p.
There were 2 other passengers but they were all men.
By the time we got to Akoda that's how the driver parked and started the balderdash story about the young man sitting beside me at the back having a load that contains dollars, saying when he helped him put the bag in the trunk, he checked it to know its content.
The young man in his teary eye started a the same story of the death of his boss in Kano who died in Saudi, and he carrying a bag of dollars out of the money in the bureau du change bla bla bla......
