Good evening all, to say I was shocked at Nigeria's incoming first lady conspicuous absence at the just concluded Presidential inauguration dinner is an understatement. Why on earth would our President-elect attend such a gathering in which even the very old presidents-emeritus such as Shonekan n Gowon came with their eternal first ladies. With this, I feel to have 5 female ministers in GMB's cabinet will be a miracle. GMB shouldn't have attended such historic event without his darling wife. This occurence may lead to a conclusion that GMB does not believe in womenfolk. Pls, Sai Baba, change for the better!
The presence or absense of our first lady at a public dinner is the least of the problem that we have in Nigeria, that is a fact.

What I care about is how GMB will fix this country not the face of the first lady.

When I made the observation in one of the threads yesterday, one of the ignorant pro-APC wanted to eat me raw.
I simply laughed at his ignorance because for him Buhari will be APC president not Nigerian president.

Is there any section of the law broken by his wife's absence?
Did Nigerians vote for his wife?

The dinner is a waste of money and time. I wont be suprised if they had spent N2 Billion on the useless dinner.

In my opinion, the only 2 thing worth celebrating in Nigeria right now are the fact that the wasteful regime will be over in less than one hour and that GEJ has choosen not to force himself on Nigeria by contesting the result of the election and thereby plunge the nation into chaos.
Do Americans we imitate vote for their president elect's wives and children when they all appear with them at inaugurations?

It's not the best way to defend Buhari in this case. Those who agree with you are blindly polarized by politics.

Forget about politics. Gender inequality or women marginalization in Nigeria politics if not properly address i swear the rate @which Nigeria poverty will be among women's hnmm all of u go fear, fear.
Aisha Buhari should come out and start thinking how she will handle widow's women, less privileges and women empowerment program. She has a major roles to play if he want her husband to succeed, thinking women ain't important in Nigeria u guys has gone.........

[color=#1980BC] Buhari in his quest for power has sacrificed his religious principles and allowed Aisha to perambulate the ends of Nigeria canvassing for votes and other political visits....Now he has gotten the ticket tis in good order for Aisha to retreat into purdah as it the requirement for all moslem matrons......Women rights just took a big hit with Buhari's victory. No one asked if the woman caught a cold or if something else came up.

Everyone wants to say something.

His daughter is there so that nullifies anti-female bullshoits.

the women Jonathan appointed as ministers how did they fare? Is it stella oduah who bought bulletproof cars worth #250,000,000? Is it diezani Allison madueke who has destroyed our petroleum industry, the unresolved $20b is still hanging, or is it okonjo iweala with her wahala? A woman under her watch Nigeria,s foreign reserve was drained, pls this is a new era, ministerial appointments should be based on merit not on gender issues
