Even when there's a thread on Front Page to enlighten stone heads like you, you've stubbornly decided to be foolish. What sense does it make if President Buhari/Yemi Osinbanjo declare their assets to the public without due confirmation of their assertions from the CCB??

If President Buhari publicly declares his assets today, is it you who will confirm if his assertions are true or false?? What's the essence of declaring your assets in public to Nigerians without confirmation from the CCB when you can lie about anything??

You TANoids on this forum are finally confirming our fears that PDP as a party will constitute a very useless opposition.

Boy go to this thread and be wise --> https://www.nairaland.com/2348337/onyema-responds-buharis-critics-over

The wise thing to do is wait till the CCB is done with evaluation of the contents of their Asset Declaration Form, when this is approved and released and Buhari doesn't read it out in public, you can now continue your "opposition struggle" by opening numerous threads.

Your current rants are baseless boy. It's barely 48hours President Buhari/Yemi Osinbanjo declared their assets to the CCB.
That is not correct, you don't need any confirmation from ccb, what ccb will do is verify the information supplied for their OWN USE and NOT for public use.

what gives you the impression that they(both buhari and Osibanjo) cant declare something to the ccb and declare another thing to the public.

again, if they both tell the truth, the ccb will not come out publicly and confirm the truth.
and if they both lie to the public, the ccb will not come out and contest or refute what they have said.

If they declare it now and it is not consistent with what ccb has, do you think the ccb will come out and tell you what buhari and osinbanjo declared is not correct ?.. HELL NO.

The only reason why this waiting game is tenable is:
1 Maybe they are so rich and have lots of asset that they need the CCB to help them confirm what is what and what is not.

2 It is their own wish to declare it publicly, it is not constitutional, so they can do it when they like, they can even do it after the 4 years in office.

I didn't vote for them, so i am less worried whether they declare it or not, it was a campaign promise they made to those thay voted for them.

This is EXACTLY what Buhari and Osinbajo did...

Note: that it isn't mandatory for assets to be declared in publicly, but mandatory to do so with code of conduct

["Public" Asset Declaration(PAD)
Unlike CCB declaration, PAD declaration is subject to the wish of the office holder. Musa Yaradua in year 2000 first declared his asset PUBLICLY as Governor of Katsina state. Details of his asset and liabilities was published. In June 2007, against the advice of CCB he went ahead to publish details of his assets and liabilities and those of his wife Turai yaradua. (nm.onlinenigeria.com/templates/?a=10124)
He never waited for CCB to publish it neither did Yaradua tell anyone to make demand for it by invoking the FOI law. CCB only does verification, they DON'T publish asset as declared.

For the record, even before the passing of the FOI, any citizen can petition CCB or get a warrant from the Court for the release of asset declaration form of a public officer. It doesn't translate to "public declaration"
[The "Not so Smart" Buhari:
While campaigning, Buhari made a pledge to Publicly Declare his asset...

Rather than public declaration, President Buhari did what every public officials have been doing by ONLY declaring with the CCB. To add salt to injury, Buhari through his Aide Alhaji Shehu Garba said Buhari has "fulfilled his promise". In his own words...

He went further to say that Nigerians can "invoke the FOI" if they want details which is not different from the norm.

For the record, there is no law that set time limit for public declaration of asset, neither is there any law that illegalise public asset declaration.

Buhari Has No History of Public Asset Declaration, Yaradua Does
Buhari has served in various capacity as State Governor, NNPC boss, Petroleum Minister, PTF(special) boss and Head of State yet never has he declared his asset publicly. Buhari has no history of open asset declaration unlike yaradua.

As Governor, Yaradua never promised to declare PUBLICLY his asset in 2000, yet he did. He repeated same as President in 2007.

Finally, Buhari and his followers should understand that the image of the President will be affected if he continue to insist that "he has fulfilled his promise" by not doing what he promised to do

May God bless Us All
Thank you.

We have heard you sir..

This case has been explained severally but simple minds wish to continue wallowing in noise making and the mods are egging them on.
You want a man to declare assets in public that CCB has not verified?
So you can create another pointless topic for the front page?
The silliness on this forum is overwhelming my senses.

It is people like you that are encouraging corruption in Nigeria by being biased yet you pretend to be fighting it. The fight against corruption must be unambiguous and total, irrespective of d personality or d party. My vote went to Buhari not because i like his face but because i thought he would fight corruption right from d outset of his administration. And i cant see anything wise in the first emboldened sentence above. U are simply twisting logic on its head. Who is in d best position to help CCB evaluate any declaration - is it one small clerk that they send around who can easily be bribed and manipulated or the general public? One of the first steps to take to end corruption in Nigeria is insisting every public officer publicly declare their assets. Insisting on this will scare half of these corrupt politicians we have off politics. Of course, there are other things to do but this is one of the first steps to take. Buhari does not need to wait for any approval from CCB to make his declaration public, he ought to have released it simultaneously, both to CCB and the public- since he has nothing to hide. And i think CCB is a partner in crime with Nigerian politicians. We must not trust them. We must hold our destiny in our hands - so, Buhari and all Governors must declare their asset to the public who will then scrutinize and blow whistle when necessary. After the public has blown the whistle then the CCB can do prosecution or whatever they are meant to do. It should not be otherwise. For now these politicians, the CCB and the rest are simply playing on the intelligence of the populace.

To Tanoid who have become restless as a result of Buhari's Asset Declaration should not forget to tell Oga Jonathan to also declare his asset as outgoing president for Nigerians to evaluate his worth before and after being president.

It is less than a week when Buhari took the mantle of leadership and a lot of mess needed to be cleared so as to halt the Nigeria ship that is heading into abyss, if public declaration is more important than the economic chaos bequeathed this administration by the previous government then i advice tanoid to wait for 100days to see if the declaration will not be in the public domain.

For now Buhari needs to set the ball rolling

Reading comments here just shows how evil the heart of some people are...Can't we relay our objective comments and opinions PEACEFULLY without having to insult others with opinions different from ours?
whilst we need to criticize this government so our country Nigeria can be great,we should do that constructively.

According to Chief Okey Nwosu, PMB is a dollar billionaire meaning he deceived Nigerians and have been getting people killed by his rioting supporters for nothing. Over 800 youth corps members and INEC ad hoc staff the last time. This is why the least the man can do is to resign immediately.
