Either Yar'Adua or Jonathan should have investigated that . Remember Jonathan was Yar'Adua 's VP . Why did they not investigate?
When PMB says, he belongs to all and yet no one owns him , you can see what he was talking about. Perhaps Yar'Adua and Jonathan were owned by somebody so they couldn't do their job.
Hellooooooooo? Did you read my comment? Did I tell Buhari not to investigate the military? My question is, why didn't this same Amnesty international request for Obj probe when he wiped out a community? If you can answer this question, then you must agree with me that there's something fishy going on here..

I wonder why a human rights Org like amnesty dont see the grievous massacre committed by bokoharam against civilians as crime against humanity but always condemn nigerian military anytime they are winning the war against bokoharam.Amnesty is a bokoharam affiliate while buhari is their commander. So the ones committed by obj against odi and zakki biam were not criminal?

Majority of amnesty evidences were blurred pictures and footages of massacre committed in other African countries.Ihejirika deserves medal for the way he dealt with the northern terror group.

It is the least he could do honestly. We all understand in war, there must be collateral damages but such damages must not be DELIBERATE.

I'm all for killing those terrorists even without trial but totally against our soldiers rounding up and wiping out entire villagers in the name of fighting terrorists. I watched one of the videos on how the civilian JTF distinguish Boko Haram fighters from civilians and almost came close to tears with the realisation even myself could be tagged a terrorist going by their methods- you are stripped and beaten until you confess, and if you don't, they say you are strong headed because you are a terrorist!! Can you imagine the horror! It implies that whether or not you confess, you are dead!

What some of our men in uniform exhibit at the battle front they do in lesser measure in our cities when they go to banks or filling stations, or man check points. They harass and molest civilians and even police sometimes.

I bet the probe would only go to fish out the bad eggs amongst them and let those who know just how to do the job continue to do so for the glory and honour of this great nation.

So help us God.

As if we have forgotten how he and his smelly northern elders drag our honorable Ihejirika to Amnesty for daring to challenge the killing machines he Buhari set up. Biafrans the time to rise up and put this almajiris where they belong, Niger and Chad

Several questions need to be answered by the service chiefs. Even in dealing with blood sucking terrorists, the rules of engagement must be observed, this is a new dispensation and Nigerians must learn to be objective and eschew sentiments in dealing with right and wrong.

Kudos to my dear President for his prompt response to this issue amidst competing priorities.
I don't know why it's hard for most Nigerians to see things this way.

It's simply a judicial audit the confirm the officers innocence or they remain suspects for life.

I think they should welcome it. Only the guilty are afraid.
My friend think straight. You do not conduct investigations in the middle of a conflict. What do you think the possible effect on planning and operations will be. Amnesty named the most senior military officers. Who will be the witnesses in any investigations, Who will be witnesses for and against the accused, the very top brass that is busy planning and prosecuting this war. This nonsense is ill-timed and a hopeless distraction and lends credence to the assertion that this whole conflict has deep political roots because AI feels it can take advantage of a new government to gain traction while failing to recognise that the overall interest of the nation is at stake.

I cannot over emphasize that the military is the last hope oe the Nigerian State and her people. It is the oldest and strongest institution we have. It is apolitical, detribalised, moderate, centrist. It is nobody's sectional or religious plaything and it has resisted all attempts to ridicule, divide and discredit it. That's why we still have a country. We will get to the levels AI prescribes. For now we have our own rules of engagement that tows the line of our administrative and operational competencies. When we have AWACS, smart munitions, satellite guidance and an intel inventory to match the world's best, we will attain global standards of smart warfare. For now we have to torture to extract information and terminate any enemy combatants found actively operating in the theatre. We have no choice.

Don't mind him.His sense of objectivity is be clouded by partisan considerations. I'm sure Bokoharii personally prodded AI to send the so called report to avail him ample justification to embark on witch hunting officers and men of our military for routing the boko haram terrorists who most discerning minds know Bokoharii to be sympathetic to.In time, the scale that has blinded the eyes of the gullible lot here defending this satanic plot will fall from their eyes and they will see the real Bokoharii for the islamic extremist and bigot he truly is.

See, if we wanted to wade deep into blue water conspiracy then we could do worst than suggest this is payback time for all those general under Johnathan who not only dared to turn to china for weapons but contemplated the orbit of a Russia that is challenging Obama’s administration right now in Ukraine in a way not seen since the cold war. Moreover Nigeria was making these moves in a capacity not clearly none-aligned. This bogus Amnesty Human rights report would then be a way of helping Buhari clear house so he could place pro American generals in office.

if this issue of amnesty international reports was based on human right abuse and high handedness of the military towards the general public in Nigeria, with regards to daily brutalization and humiliation of civilians all over the nation, I would have given them thumb up.

angry angry angry It shall never be well with "armnasty" and their local and international collaborators bent on blackmailing the leadership of Nigeria into dancing to their tunes. Nigeria will not divide in this 2015 and AFRICOM headquarter will not be domiciled in Nigeria and above all, the USA government/military will fail woefully in their envious and desperate bid to halt Chinese expansion in Africa...... FVCK AMNESTY A BILLION TIMES!

U.S. official: 10,000-plus ISIS fighters killed in 9-month campaign

I hope the US observed the human rights of this 10,000 demons too. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
The difference could be that the ISIS fighters didn't "surrender" to the US forces when American fighter jets were bombing them to smithereens.
Under international law, specifically the Vienna Convention, killing an enemy combatant that has surrendered, is a war crime. Torturing captured enemy combatants is also a war crime too.

Therefore, the Buhari administration should thoroughly review the Amnesty Int'l and set definite rules of engagement for Nigerian troops in the theater. I'm not in any way sympathetic to the demonic Boko Haram terrorists, but due process should be observed.

I can answer that question, and the answer is that Amnesty international is the first international organization to bring to the notice of the world about the massacre in Odi on 23rd September 1999. Amnesty international continued pursuing the case just like they did for this alleged North East massacre and it's easy to follow. All you do is to google Odi massacre Amnesty international and read all the efforts of Amnesty international on that unfortunate and sad event. After you do that , you can come back here and tell me why Yar'adua and his Vice President Jonathan ( who later became President ) in a total of 8 years failed to probe the Odi massacre. Remember that Odi is in Bayelsa state and Jonathan must have full account of the Odi killings and destruction as he was then the Deputy Governor in that state. So you tell me what was fishy , why did Yardua and especially Jonathan ( who had 6 yeas as president) did nothing.

You talk too much. Are you suggesting that those accused by Amnesty International are guilty or not guilty of deliberately rounding up unarmed civilians knowingly and massacring them ? If they are not guilty , how do we and the world know that?
