A civic group has launched an online application to track the delivery of pre-election promises made by Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari.

The web-app [http://www.buharimeter.ng/], announced on Monday, holds data on all promises made by both the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and Mr. Buhari while campaigning for the 2015 general elections.

It is part of the digital governance revolution in Nigeria, helping the use of online tools to deepen the country’s democracy and make government accountable and transparent, its creators said.

The app was built by the Centre for Democracy and Development with support from Open Society Foundation West Africa and a leading budget data analytics, Budgit.

Buharimeter measures the implementation of Mr. Buhari’s campaign promises and displays a visual report. It documents promises made by the current government in different sectors for easy tracking.
The performance of the government will be measured using three related methods.

First, it will crowdsource Nigerians’ contributions to discussions, comments on policy pronouncements of the government in achieving its set targets and surveys.

Buhari, as far as I know him remains a good man as a person but he is not the type of leader Nigeria wants at this time......in his bid to impress and to get a power grab from PDP, he failed the 'litmus test of campaign expected of a leader' which is, 'Promise little but deliver much' unfortunately, the APC machinery goaded him to 'Promise much and he may likely deliver......' well you know the rest. They also have to show us the "JONATHOMETER" they created for GEJ.
I don't care which METER they set for Buhari. By the grace of the Almighty he's going to deliver 85% of his promises and more. So by the time he finish and they all benefitted from the goodies like Jobs,steady power etc,then they will be the one to campaign for him for another bid.

I supported President Buhari and a die hard APC Fan, after my dream last night about this Govt, I decided to withdraw from supporting APC and I want to be neutral for the benefit of this country because my dream has always come to reality. Nigerians needed a change as claim by this Govt and it time we have to put hands together to make sure Buhari Govt perform all campaign promises, let all Nigerians join hands together and make sure we are not deceive by this Govt because they promise so much and yet nothing has been done, It time we stop acting as common supporters and come out plain and clear to challenge this Govt for any foul play. at least there should be few change and it should start from this fuel scarcity after 1 week in office. please be warned!!! fuel scarcity continues and they promise us 60 naira per liter, yet we still purchase 130 naira per liter and even boko haram that the previous Govt claim to have succeeded in battling them regain power all of a sudden.

Note : Am not a supporter of PDP and never did i supported GEJ Previous Govt, but am only calling for a better Nigeria, please be Warned!!!

Buhari is the president and whatever he does affects every Nigerian and you call that an unauthorized zone?
The last time I checked, Nigeria runs a democracy not dictatorship.

And by the way, Buhari made the promises by himself, nobody forced him, so he is bound to keep them.

brouhaha... we have all his promises in our heads. he is already fulfilling some. the moves he has been making of recent are aimed towards putting an endvto insurgency/insecurity in the north east. nice idea still if not I'll intended

As an ardent supporter of BUhari, this is a welcome development. It can help the President track his campaign promises.

Not bad its will just keep PMB on his toes which will make it easy for him against second term.
