why must there be a need to decongest owerri town instead of expanding the megacity of the town,
Look young man,university of uyo is the heart of the town,university of lagos is in the heart/middle of the town from island..they have never thought of decongesting the towns because of students,prostitution and yahoo.yahoo..
Is there any state in nigeria that is free from those vices?pls we should looked inwardly and outwardly on how we can improve our towns to megacity like lagos or kano than decongesting it when we dont ve enough population like lagos or kano...

Imo needs expansion and population and not decongestion ..

Continuous expansion of Owerri constrains every Imo state government to deploy most of the state's funds into providing necessary social infrastructure to the twin cities of Old and New Owerri at the negligence of development in the rest of the state.

Expecting Gov. Okorocha to establish industries in Imo state is chasing shadow. Government does not establish or run industries. Government provides the enabling environment for entrepreneurs to establish industries.


From your posts, it is obvious the word equity has no place in your dictionary, if not, why must you or anybody believe that in Imo state, it is not bad to have all five publicly-financed universities and Polytechnics in the state be located around Owerri alone?
You don't observe that it makes people from that part of the state enjoy the too many advantages of closeness to such subsidized public institutions at the disadvantage of outsiders; and in the long run, that must create a huge imbalance in education between people from Owerri zone and others.

Private institutions are not subsidized, they hardly benefit areas they are established.

Owerri used to be cool, whjat really happened..i am finding it hard to believe those pictures are owerri city..i was born and raised there
