The followers are to be blamed. Why?.:They present good proposals to the government just to get approval ,after getting the approval thy go behind and use substandard material for construction that make the buildings or roads not to last long and at the same time poses danger to inhabitants.

followers are to be blamed for bad roads?? poor airports?? after paying tax??

and I refuse to accept your claim, we all know of the bureaucracy in our country. You are given 100% to execute a particular contract, Ministry of A comes to collect his share, Ministry of B comes and probably ministry of C also, how much is left of the 100%, and since you have to execute the project, you go for substandard materials

Furthermore, some of our leaders squander, public funds that ought to be used for the development of the nation. There are many cases of missing funds here and there, yet the leaders that supposed to bring justice to these cases are the ones covering up the cases, because they are also involved in it. We can't expect moral uprightness, if our leaders behave like this. Yet, these people are paid millions for lazing away in the hollow chambers, passing bills that do not directly or indirectly put food on the table of hungry Nigerians. The vexatious part of it is that these politicians vaingloriously and ostentatiously flaunt their I'll gotten money, which definitely makes the poor to be tempted and tortured financially. This, will only make the poor to have the intention of partaking in corrupt practices when they eventually find themselves in power.

Former aviation minister, Mrs Stella Oduah bought two cars, worth 1.6 million dollars, yet the government were silent about it,
In my secondary school days we were taught about rights. We all have freedom of speech. If the followers are not comfortable with how the leaders are behaving, are they not support to refute and protest? Or do you want to tell me that the followers are not aware of these?

To me, A leader in this debate is someone that holds a political post or has a political power. The principals you mentioned there is still regarded as a follower. And don't you think, the students and parents share the most blame in your case there. We all know the parents must have collided with the principal of the school to carry out the act of corruption, and the students are willingly to be involved. So tell me who takes the most blame? Is it the government or the parents, teachers and students?
Leaders are all round and all leaders in any society plays an important role for the society. so if you are a president you are still a leader to people and if you are a principal you are still a leader to your students so don't restrict yourself to one set of leaders

My co debater. Yes the follower have the right to protest. But are our voices heard? is the government ready to listen to the followers? the only place the followers function well to ensure an effective leadership is during the election.

so tell me how many protest have you made and the effect was made effectively? so I believe and you will believe with me that most followers just fold their hands simply because the leaders don't grant them the right to do so. and this will certainly create a wrong motive in the followers and they do will begin to believe that corruption is a normal norms.

Indeed, Nigerians are not corrupt but our leaders are. If Nigerian leaders keep our national values and make our laws potent, Nigerians will be forced to do what is right. It is often surprising that whenever Nigerians travel overseas, they comply and abide by all laws and regulations over there, but when they are back home in Nigeria, they continue disobeying the law. This is more so because the leadership in those countries do not joke with their own laws whereas Nigerian leaders trample upon their own.

How can the leaders make the laws potent when those that are around them are corrupt and will do anything to give the leaders reason why they shouldn't make laws potent?

Our Vice Senate President erected a building worth millions of naira and the money he used for it was generally known to be a proceed of embezzled government fund,

Danjuma, kindly substantiate this. Who are "generally known" people?

They cannot complain because during election period many people sell their votes just for their own interest so anything they get is as a result of what they have done so that leaves them with no choice than to bear the situation.

You are funny, even my 7 years old nephew knows that cheating is wrong. And are you saying that parents that paid huge amount of money for their offspring to cheat their way to pass an exam doesn't know it is wrong?

Its better not to do a thing at all than to do a bad job. Do u think those standard buildings abroad are built just for building sake?:Do u also think that time is not taken to make sure that the buildings are well erected? One bad attitude of Nigerians is 'haste' we are in a hurry to get things done legal or illegal.

My friend any parent that pays money for a child to pass their exams are only fostering that child to exhibit more. Had it been that parent did not pay the money for their ward to pass their exams then I am definitely sure that the corrupt practices that child will exhibit will be minima. So every child knows that cheating is bad so does it give him the temerity to involve in such act?

you know that fire will burn your skin and your parent asked you do to so. will you do it? if you put your hand in it then you are on your own. and you will acquire the effect more.

Yes,it started from the leader because they are the one that first made it known to the public but if we trace it further down to what triggered or made den exhibit corruption we would find out that the followers are the cause of it all.

And besides most followers tend to frustrate their leaders making them do things that they ordinarily would not venture into.
