Wike dissolves electoral, judicial commissions RIVERS State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has dissolved the State Independent Electoral Commission and the Rivers State Judicial Service Commission. The dissolution of the two bodies by the governor came few hours after the State House of Assembly earlier directed the governor to dissolve the two commissions. The House had summoned the chairmen and members of the commissions to give account of their activities within the last two years. The state lawmaker, who were apparently dissatisfied over the explanation of the head of the two commissions on Monday, empowered Wike to sack the commissioners and dissolve the commissions. Wike, in a short statement, signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Sir Opunabo Inko-Tariah, explained that he acted in line with the directive of the House on grounds of official misconduct leveled against the commissions. http://www.punchng.com/news/wike-dissolves-electoral-judicial-commissions/ 10 Likes

StepTwo: it should be noted that : Rivers Assembly Orders Wike To Sack RSIEC, Judicial Commission Rivers State House of Assembly has directed Governor Nyesom Wike to sack the chairmen and members of the state Judicial Service Commission (JSC) and Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), respectively. The order is coming less than two months after the Local Government Councils were inaugurated. The resolution to sack the two bodies followed hours of interrogations of the members of the Commissions by the lawmakers on their activities in the last two years. The lawmakers regretted on Monday, June 8, 2015 that the judicial service commission was disobedient to the instructions of the National Judicial Commission thereby throwing the state judiciary into chaos. A member representing Ikwere Constituency, Anselem Ogugu, said that it was embarrassing for the Chairman of RSIEC, Prof. Ausgustine Ahiozu, not to know how much the commission received for the 2013 Ogba /Egbema/ Ndoni Local Council elections and the recent May 23 Local Government polls. He also decried the inability of the RSIEC chairman to pay contractors after receiving N1.8 billion for the May 23, Local Council elections. The House Leader, Martins Amaewhule, argued that they officers erred and contravened in their oaths of office. “We have heard from the two commissions and all we heard clearly shows that the erred.
