Our girls are defending the corners too close to the goal thereby choking up the box. They should take up positions around the middle of the box.

Besides, when defending set pieces usually its either you use zone defence or man-to-man. It seems our girls are not using any of these. They are not marking man to man and they are also not taking positions in zones. They are just congregating together anyhow.

Its obvious our coach didn't do set piece defence with them. Very poor

If you are using zone defence u don't mark according to where ur opponents are. Each player takes a position and is responsible for attacking the ball in that zone. Whether d opponents crowd d six yard box or not is immaterial, For example I was expecting Nigeria to place at least one player at the near post to attack the in coming ball. Many times corners don't even get into the box before it is cleared by the first man. Nigeria never did that. They just bunched up together with no clear plan of defence.
There was a picture uploaded by someone on this thread showing three Swedish players jumping for the corner with no Nigerian player near them. What sort of marking is that?

Thank you my brother. I don't know what else they want the girls to do. Those Swedish girls know how to crowd the six yard area like the way our politicians dey crowd podium during campaign. The only thing I expected our girls to do was to give them a dose of their own medcine by crowding their own 6 yard area. May be the coach would pick a lesson from that. Above all I love the girls spirit. We are rated 33 in the world and we played against 5 and second runner up in the last event Abeg kudos to our girls.

The men can not even pull a draw with Swedish national team.

There is no offside with corners is not utterly correct.The Swedish second goal could have been marked offside if the defenders had rushed out when ball was first knocked down for a rebound. Instead one or two of Falcon's defenders stood on the goal line.
